Button-less Bum Cover with Optional Suspenders

Materials: H hook Gauge: 7 dc by 3 rows Sizes NB: 8 %" across by 5" high 3 months: 9"across by 6 "high 6 months: 9%"across by 7" 9 months: 10" across by 7 %" Basic crochet knowledge is needed to complete this simple and fast diaper cover. You will need to know how to double crochet and how to decrease over the indicated number of stitches. This piece is worked in rounds. You willbe joining at the end of each round. Your CH 2 counts as your first st. Ch 50 (54, 57, 60), join. RND 1: CH 2, dc in each st around, join to beginning ch 2 to join. 50 (54, 57, 60) RND 2-6 (8, 10, 11): Repeat RND 1. Fasten off. 50 (54, 57, 60) FrontFlap \*\*Mark off 20 (22, 25, 28) sts from, join with a DC in first marked st. Dc across to next marked st, ch 2 and turn. ; to last st, CH 2 and turn(CH 2 does not count as first st for the flap). 20 (22, 25, 28 Row 5: DC2tog, DC in the next 16 (18, 21, 24) sts, DC2tog over the last 2 sts. CH 2 and turn. 18 (20, 23, 26) Row 6: DC3tog, DC in the next 12 (14, 18, 20) sts. DC3tog over that last 3 sts. CH 2 and turn. 14 (16, 20, 22) Row 7: DC4tog, DC in the next 4 (8, 10, 12) sts. DC4tog over the last 4 sts. Fasten off. 6 (10, 12, 14) Align the bottom piece to the front evenly and sew to connect.
Suspenders (Optional)
Making sure that the piece is even, find the side stitch that separates the front of the cover from the back. Beginning CH 3 does count as a st. 1st Suspender Row 1: Attach to the 7th (9th, 11th 12th)st. CH 3, DC in the next 4 st across. (5) Rows 2-24 (28, 32, 36, 40): Ch 3, DC across. (5) 2nd Suspender Row 1: Attach to the 1oth (12th, 13th, 17th) st from the first suspender completed. CH3, DCin the next 4 sts across(5) Rows 2-24 (28, 32, 36, 40): Ch 3, DC across. (5) o the front of the diaper cover and slip through the DC on the suspenders to fasten.
