Blue Jeans & Moon Beams
Moonbeams and Blue Jeans Shawl
This versatile shawl made with yarn spun from recycled jeans is fun and flexible. After the initial set-up and one round of chart A, you are free to mix and match charts B through E as you wish. Pick one and repeat it as many times as you'd like then add the border. Or explore possibilities with rearranging the charts however you wish. As long as you complete a full repeat of all of the rows in each pattern repeat and are ready to restart Row 1 of charts B-E, you can pick any chart you'd like! The border pattern will add two inches so when the main pattern area is the size you'd like before the border, stop at the end of the last row on the ws and start the Border chart. Because I try to encourage everyone to work from charts, no written directions are given for the stitch patterns. But you do have your choice of regular charts or stitch-maps, which show symbols in the actual flow of the stitch patterns. Each stitch map indicates the edge, center and repeat stitches as in the regular chart. If you'd like to see continuous row repeats of the patterns click on the links below the maps. If would like more information about stitch maps visit: stitch-maps.com
Materials
Kollage Riveting Sport -2 skeins (Size shown used 120 gms total. Each successive repeat will take approx. 20 grams) Shown in Dusk Denim & Night Denim, alternating each pattern repeat. Size 6/4mm circular needles, interchangeable if possible for cord lengths 4 stitch markers, or more if you like to separate pattern repeats.
Notes
· Shawl is a triangle made of 2 triangles separated by 3 center stockinette stitches and 3 garter stitches on each edge for the selvedge. · Charts show Right Side rows only. Always knit 1Ist and last 3 sts on Wrong Side. Purl all other stitches on Wrong Side. · The charts from A-E indicate instructions for the sts between the Ist & 2nd markers including the repeats. · Mirror each row of the chart between 3rd and 4th markers for each row of knitting.
