Newborn (0 - 3 months) - 24 peg loom
Hat
With white yarn cast on all the pegs using 2 of yarn as 1 strand. 1. Ewrap 2 and purl 1 for 4 rows. 2. Ewrap the rest of the hat until it measures 5.5 inches for a newborn or 6 inches for 1 -3 months Bind off by pulling the needle through pegs 1 & 2, hold the yarn behind pegs 3 & 4, needle through pegs 5 & 6, hold the yarn behind pegs 7 & 8, and continue around the loom. Once all the way around put the needle through all of the stitches you didn't go through the first time. Pull off the loom and pull yarn to close. Knot off and weave in ends.
Ears
Cast on 5 stitches with 2 strands of the pink yarn. 1. Alternate rows of ewrap and purl stitches for a total of 12 rows. 2. Move the first and last stitches to adjacent pegs and knit off. 3. Purl 1 row 4. Move the first stitch to the middle peg and knit off. 5. Move thelast stitch to the adjacentpeg and knit off. Pull the yarn through, knot, and weave in ends. With white yarn whip stitch a pipecleaner around the edge of the ear. Whip stitch around the ear again 1 or 2 more times to get the edges to be as fluffy as you want. With the white yarn run it horizontal side to side along the back of the ear to create a solid white back. You can always add a strand of white worsted weight yarn to your eye lash yarn to create a more solid white. Repeat this again for a second ear. Stitch the ears on to the hat and weave in your ends. Note: Adjust the ears by bending them to get them to sit properly on the hat when being worn.
