Instruction/ Notes: You may want to mark your front and if you like edge sts, then slip the 1st purlwise and knit the last. US terms used throughout. CO 1 st with main color, kf&b. K across Kf&b 2X K aross Kf&b, k to last st, kf&b K across Repeat last 2 rows until you have 24 sts. Working across top of heart: K2tog, k8, ssk, k2tog, k8, ssk. Working each hump separatley, K2tog, k 6, ssk, turn. K2tog, k4, ssk, turn K2tog, k2, ssk, turn Ssk twice, and BO. Either cut yarn and reattach at center or slip stitch to center and pass loop over 1"t st. K2tog, k6, ssk. Turn K2tog, k4 ssk, turn K2tog, k2, ssk, turn, K2tog, ssk, turn and BO. Using a contrast color and leaving a 8 inch tail, CO 2 sts. Pback Kf&b each st, P back Repeat until you have total of 10 sts, then BO. Take the CO tail and weave through 4 sts and pull tight. This creates a small fan shape. Using the tails, attach to heart somewhere. I chose the bottom but you can place it anywhere you want per the 1't picture. Using DPNs and using a bright colored yarn, pick up sts around entire heart, adding extra sts at the curves and bottom. Make an I-cord bind off. Every so often, if you remember, make a dread lock by pulling a long loop, twisting and then slipping the end back onto the needle, and slipping the next loop over it. Continue with I-cord BO, and add as many dreadlocks as many times as you want. If necessary you can add them afterwards like I did.

NOTE: Dreadlocks are optional. Above photo is without due to running out of that piece of yarn. Optional edging: if you have crochet skills, then consider doing a crochet edging. It's faster. Above picture shows combo of I-cord and a stretchy crochet BO. Next photo shows same scrumble with both crochet chains and with the twisted dreadlocks worked behind the BO sts. Both work well for this type of freeform. This pattern has not been tested as it's freeform so any mistakes are considered design elements. Enjoy the journey!
