It is knitted in 4 ply yarn and features a scooped neckline, a cabled peplum, buttoned front opening and elbow length sleeves. To fit 32" bust. Finished measurements: Bust: 32" / 81 cm Sleeve seam: 6 1/2" / 17cm Length: 20" / 51 cm

Tension

27 sts and 36 rows to 10 cm measured over stocking stitch using 3 mm needles.

With 3.25 mm needles cast on 178 sts. Row 1: k1 (k8, p6) 12 times, k9. Row 2: k1 (p8, k6) 12 times, p8, k1. Row 3: as row 1. Row 4: as row 2. Row 5: k1 (C4B, p6) 12 times, C4B, k1. Row 6: as row 2. Rows 7-12: repeat rows 1 & 2 three more times. Row 13: as row 5. Row 14: as row 2. Rows 15-20: repeat rows 1 & 2 three more times. Row 21: k1 (C4B, p1,p2tog, p2tog, p1) 12 times, C4B, k1. (154 sts) Row 22: k1 (p8, k4) twelve times, p8, k1. Row 23: k1 (k8, p4) twelve times, k9. Rows 24-28: repeat rows 22 & 23 two times more, then row 22 again. Row 29: k1 (C4B, p4) twelve times, C4B, k1. Row 30 - 36: repeat rows 22 & 23 three times more, then row 22 again. Row 37: k1 (C4B, p2tog, p2tog) twelve times, C4B, k1. (130 sts) Row 38: k1 (p8, k2) twelve times, p8, k1. Row 39: k1 (k8, p2) twelve times, k9. Rows 40-44: Repeat rows 38 & 39 two times more, then row 38 again. (104 sts) Row 48: purl. Continue in stocking stitch for 24 rows. Increase 1 st at beg and end of next row and 5 following 8th rows. (116 sts) Continue straight until work measures 21 cm from start of stocking stitch, ending with a Wsrow. Cast off 6 sts at beg of next two rows. (104 sts) Dec 1 st at each end of next 5 rows. (94 sts) Dec 1 st at each end of 2 following alt rows. (90 sts) Work 3 rows. Dec 1 st at each end of next row. (88 sts) Work straight until work measures 17 cm from start of armhole shaping, ending with a WSrow. Shape shoulders and back neck Cast off 6 sts at beg of next two rows. (76 sts) Cast off 6 sts, knit until there are 9 sts on right hand needle, turn. Working on these 9 sts only, cast off 4 sts, work to end. Cast off remaining 5 sts. With RS facing, place centre 46 sts on a holder. Attach yarn to remaining 15 sts and complete to match other shoulder, reversing shaping.

FRONT

Work front as per the instructions for the back up to and including row 48. (104 sts) Knit 51 sts, turn. Place remaining 53 sts on a spare needle or stitch holder. Working on the 51 sts only, for left front, beginning with a purl row, work 23 rows in stockingstitch. Increase 1 st at beg of next row and 5 following 8th rows. (57 sts) Continue in stocking stitch until work measures 21 cm from start of stocking stitch, ending with a ws row. Armhole shaping Cast off 6 sts at beg of next row. (51 sts) Work 1 row. Dec 1 st at armhole edge on next 5 rows. (46 sts) Dec 1 st at armhole edge on 2 following alt rows. (44 sts) Work3rows. Dec 1 st at armhole edge on next row. (43 sts)

Neck shaping

Cast off 9 sts at beg of next row. (34 sts) Dec 1 st at neck edge of next 8 rows. (26 sts) Dec 1 sts at neck edge on next 6 alt rows. (20 sts) Dec 1 sts at neck edge on next 3 following 4th rows. (17 sts) Continue without shaping until the armhole measures the same as the back, ending withawsrow. Shape shoulders Cast off 6 sts at beg of next row and following alt row. Work 1 row. Cast off remaining 5 sts.

RIGHT FRONT

With RS facing, rejoin yarn to 53 sts from holder. Cast off 2 sts, knit to end. Complete right front to match left front, reversing all shaping.

SLEEVES

Cast on 82 sts with 2.75 mm needles. Row 1: (k2, p2) to last 2 sts, k2. Row 2: (p2, k2) to last 2 sts, p2. Repeat rows 1 & 2 for a total of 16 rows. Change to 3 mm needles. Beg with a knit row, work in stocking stitch for 18 rows. Increase 1 st each end of next row. (84 sts) Continue straight until sleeve measures 17

Shape sleeve top

Cast off 6 sts at beg of next 2 rows. (72 sts) Dec 1 st at each end of next 3 rows. (66 sts) Dec 1 st each end of following alt row. (64 sts) Work 3 rows. Dec 1 st each end of next row . (62 sts) Dec 1 st each end of 3 following 6th rows. (56 sts) Dec 1 st each end of 2 following 4th rows. (52 sts) Work 1 row. Dec 1 st each end of next and following alt row. (48 sts) Dec 1 st each end of next 7 rows. (34 sts) Cast off 4 sts beg of next 2 rows. (26 sts) Cast off remaining 26 sts.

MAKING UP

Join shoulder seams using back stitch or mattress stitch. Attach sleeves to armholes and join side seams. Neaten up all loose ends.

NECKBAND

With RS facing, using 2.75 mm needles, pick up and knit 54 sts from right front, 4 sts from back neck, k across 46 sts from holder, pick up and knit 4 sts from back neck and 54 sts from left front. (162 sts) Working in garter st, knit 2 rows. Cast off loosely knitwise on Ws.

BUTTON BAND

With RS facing and 2.75 mm needles, pick up and knit 71 sts along edge of left front. Working in garter st, knit 2 rows. Cast off knitwise on ws.

BUTTONHOLE BAND

With RS facing and 2.75 mm needles, pick up and knit 71 sts along edge of right front. Working in garter st, knit 1 row. Button hole row: k4 (yon, k2tog, k6) eight times, yon, k2tog, k1.
