Brim of Hat
With US #7 circular needles and Green yarn, cast on 84 sts. Place a stitch marker and join the circle. Work in K1, P1 ribbing the round for rows 1-13.
Base of Hat
Switch to US #8 and knit rows according to the chart for Rows 14 - 49. Stripe section: 2 row Green, 5 rows Gray, 3 rows Green, 2 rows Gray, 1 row Green 3 rows Gray, 5 rows Green, 2 rows Gray, 3 rows Green, 1 row Gray, 2 rows Green, 5 rows Gray, 2 rows Green.
Decrease Crown at Row 50 using Green throughout. Note: Switch to US #8 double pointed needles when knitting gets to tight.
