A light crescent shaped shawl knitted from the centre top down, with the main body based on a modified spider pattern with a border of leaves, and a knitted on border of scalloped lace. @2014 Cath Ward. Work rows 1-21 of Spider Chart. Rows 10-21 form the lace pattern. The spider motif consists of a 6 stich/6 row repeat, while the spider lace fits into the crescent shaping in a 12 row repeat. Repeat rows 10-21 6 times. You should have 93 rows and 281 stiches in total. Work rows 1-32 of the Leaf Border Chart. You should end up with 375 stitches in total. Work rows 1-29 of the Scalloped Lace Chart. Repeat rows 6-29 30 times, then work rows 30-32. Note that the k2tog-tbl at the end of each right side row knits together one border stitch and one shawl stitch. As a guide that you are in the right place, rows 16 and 28 of the Scalloped Lace Chart line up with the top points of the Leaf Border pattern.

Stitch Glossary
bo
Bind off the specified number of stitches. Cast on the specified number of stitches. k Knit.
kfb
Knit into the front of the stitch, leaving the stitch on the needle, and then knit into the back of the same stitch.
k2tog
Knit 2 stitches together.
k2tog-tbl
Knit 2 stitches together through the back loop.
No stitch
This stitch is ignored. Purl.
p2tog
Purl 2 stitches together.
ssk
Slip 2 stitches knitwise, then knit slipped stitches together.
s1
With the working yarn in back, insert the right needle into the next stitch as if to purl and transfer the stitch from the left needle to the right.

Slip one stitch knitwise, then knit 2 stitches together and pass the slipped stitch over.

Wrap the working yarn over the right needle, from front to back (counter-clockwise).
