Triangular shawl, knitted as a domino triangle, i.e. starting with the legs of the triangle. The finishing point will be at the centre of the hypotenuse. You need: Kauni 8/2 Effektgarn, 210 grams = 924 yds / 845 m or other wool yarn of similar weight.
Circular needle size 6 mm (US 10). Please note: The shaping of the triangle This will be implied throughout and ONLY specified in the instructions for the lace flower pattern. Decrease K3tog: slip 2 sts knitwise onto R needle, K1, slip sts over knit st: 3 sts become 1 st. Always purl this st on Ws. Decrease K2 tog: slip 1st st on row purlwise, K2 tog, work row. Outer rim: Using knit on method, cast on 399 sts. Place markers after st no. 50, 150, 249, and 349. Work in garter st for 10 rows. Work 7 rows st st with garter edges: slip 1, K2 tog, K9 on each row. Work 12 rows garter st, ending with Ws facing for next row. Flower band: All WS rows: purl with garter edges. Please note: the K3tog for the lace flowers is slightly different than the K3tog used for the centredecrease. Lace K3tog: slip 1 st knitwise, K2tog, slip st over knit sts.
