Boatride
an original design by Jocelyn Viernes This infinity scarf was borne out of a need to design something simple yet highly wearable. Not to mention something that will not bore you out of yourwits! The design elements were chosen to reflect the "BangkeroFestival' theme.

The winding_ cables mimic the movement of the boats as they journey up the river towards the Pagsanjan Falls. The central seed stitch panel depicts the rocky riverbed that makes the journey just that little bit more exciting and interesting! The columns of ribbing represent the majestic Pagsanjan Falls itself. Happy knitting!

Pattern notes:
To keep your place in the chart, I suggest placing a stitchmarker after each chart repeat. Choose a different marker for the beginning of your round. You might also like to use a row counter to keep track of the regular rows between cable rows. Pattern is written for large infinity scarf size, with the medium scarf and cowl sizes mentioned in brackets. You can make a longer scarf by casting on extra stitches in multiples of 27, or make your scarf/cowl wider by knitting more vertical repeats until you use up all your yarn. Using backward loop method (or any other stretchy cast on method of your choice), cast on 270 (216, 162) stitches. I recommend placing a removable stitchmarker every 50 stitches or so to help you count your cast on. Cast on l extra stitch for joining. Qptional: Before joining your work in the round, twist the stitches on the lefthand needle. Yes, I know we all taught ourselves to make sure the stitches are not twisted before joining, but this time you are twisting your Work deliberately. This produces a fake moebius. Or you could just join as normal if you like. Knit the first cast on and the last cast on stitches together to close the round. Place a marker after joining to mark beginning of round. Proceed with the instructions below. Setup rounds Round l: Purl Round 2: Knit Round 3: Purl Round l: Purl Round 2: Knit Round 3: Purl Knit following the chart below. Work the 27-stitch "Boatride" chart 10 (8, 6) times around. Work the full 12 rows of the chart approximately 6 (6, 8) times ending in row 12, or until you have enough yarn left to do the edging and cast off. Knit rows 1-3 of the chart. Proceed to edging.
Finishing
Bind off loosely. I suggest using Suspended Bind Off. Weave in ends. Soak the finished scarf/cowl in warm water with a few drops of wool wash. Roll in a clean towel to squeeze out excess water. Lay flat on a foamboard or blocking mat, tugging at the edges to desired width and length. Allow to completely dry.
