Uphill

A shawl pattern by Caitlin ffrench This triangle shawl is a loosely draping, warm accessory for the start of the cold months. It is quite huge, and can tuck under a warm jacket, tied like a bandana, to keep cold chills out. The yarn has been naturally dyed with Arbutus tree bark, Blackberries, Cochineal Bugs, and Hibiscus flowers. Coming from the Cascadia region, Arbutus is an indigenous tree, Blackberries are an invasive species, Hibiscus is typically a food product, and Cochineal is an exotic dye. Together, all of these dyes make a lovely soft colour to welcome the darker months. Page 4 Finishing: Wet block to the dimensions in pattern notes, or to desired size. Weave in ends. Extra Tips: This shawl can be as large, or as small as you'd like. The way to adjust it is to work charts 2a and 2b as written, but in multiples of 2. In doing this, you are able to work charts 3a and 3b, and the numbers will be correct. Thank you so much for taking the time to read (and knit!) this pattern. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. I can be found at www.wewilltellyouallofoursecrets.com caitlinffrench@gmail.com Also, this pattern was knit with yarn that I naturally dyed myself! If you wish to dye your own, the base yarn used is Pollika Yarn Undyed Merino DK. And if you aren't using one of these two yarns, shop at your local independent yarn store! And a big thank you to Arlin ffrench for the photos. And the model in the photos is me, Caitlin ffrench.

Happy Knitting! XO
