Sesame Streets Yip Yip Alien Puppet by Coltracraft
This puppet is a great project for beginners. It is made to fit a child's hand. Alien measures around 20 cm long when finished. It uses one ball of yarn plus a little bit more, depending on yourtension
Things you will need
4.00mm crochet hook 2, 100gm 4 ply acrylic yarn in main colour Some black and white yarn for eyes A small amount of stuffing for eyes 1 pipe cleaner Needle for finishing

Body
Face
Rnd 1: ch 1, sc in same ch sp, sc 14, turn (15 sc) Rnd 2-10: ch 1, sc 15 turn, for next 9 rows (15 sc) YourAlien should look like thisso far
Turn the last 10 rows inside out, fold in half and sew your 15 sc together along top edge as shown in picturebelow
Fasten off Leave tail to sew in antenna later
Mouth
Rnd 1: With right side facing Join yarn to right corner of mouth, working on inside of sc sts only, ch 1, 1sc around 20 sts, pick up 18 sc sts along top of mouth, this rnd will give you a line to separate inside and outside of mouth Rnd 2-10: Sc in the round till you have 10 rows this will form inside of your puppets mouth Cut yarn leavening a long tail to sew with Fold mouth down inside body Turn inside out and sew mouth piece around inside of body leaving a space for your fingers to fit up towards where the eyes will be and your thumb to fit at front of mouth
Tassels
Ch55 Fastenoff Make 35 separate chs Join them to body 4 rows up from bottom edge by pulling the chain through a sc hole with your hook, one chain will make 2 tassels folded in half, make sure they are even lengths and fasten them to the body by tying a knot Tidy tail ends by tying another knot and cutting them to an even size
Eyes
Use Black Make a magic circle with black yarn Rnd 1: ch 1, sc 10 in circle sl st to join Rnd 2: ch 1, sc 10 sl st to join Fasten off and change to white yarn Rnd 3-8: ch 1, sc 10 in the round for next 5 rnds Fasten off leaving a tail to sew eyes on with later Stuff with stuffing Thread tail of eyes through all 10 sts pull tight and fasten off Hide all your tails and sew on your eyes, push your antenna through the top of head, make a snail shape at the ends and bend into an M shape, secure with a few stitches Congratulations you are done.
