Tip:
Incr: knit 1 through both front and back loop of the same stitch Knit selvedge = ks: knit until 1 stitch remains, slip the stitch with the yarn in front, turn and knit the 1st st through the back loop
Pattern
The whole shawl is worked in garter stitch Cast on 7 st Row 1: ks, k5, ks Row 2: ks, incr, incr, k1, incr, incr, ks = 11 st Row 3: ks, incr, k7, incr, ks = 13 st Row 4: ks, incr, k2, incr, k3 (middle stitches) incr, k2, incr, ks, = 17 st Row 5: ks, incr, k13, incr, ks, = 19 st Row 6: ks, incr, k5, incr, k3, incr, k5, incr, ks = 23 st Continue to increase in the same way: On all even rows: incr 1 st after the 1st stitch and before the last stitch as well as before and after the 3 middle stitches (Note: Since the shawl looks the same on both sides, it is helpful to put a marker round the 3 middle stiches on the right side) On all uneven rows: increase 1 st after the 1st and before the last st When approx. 24 (60) 24 g of yarn remain, increase in all stitches except the selvedge ones Continue in stockinette stitch until there is only enough yarn left for the cast off row Castoff Put the shawl in hot water, felt a little and put to dry to make it nice and soft
