Materials:
Worsted weight yarn in Black and Steelers Gold Needles to give you the gauge you desire (The sample was knit on 5mm/US#8 needles at a gauge of 4 stitches per inch) Using long-tail cast on, cast on a multiple of 6 stitches using Black. Knit 1 row Black Knit 2 rows Gold Knit 2 rows Black Begin working the colorwork pattern. Written instructions: SI 1 pw - slip 1 stitch purlwise K - knit P-purl B - black G - gold Rows 1 & 3: Sl 1 pwB, K 1G, K 1B, \*K 3B, K 3G repeat from \* to last 3 stitches, K 1B, K 1G, K 1B Rows 2 & 4: Sl1 pwB, P 1G, K 1B,\*P 3B, P 3G repeat from \* to last 3 stitches, P 1B, P 1G, K 1B Rows 5 & 7: Sl 1 pwB, K 1G, K 1B, \*K 3G, K 3B repeat from \* to last 3 stitches, K 1B, K 1G, K 1B Rows 6 & 8: Sl 1 pwB, P 1G, K 1B, \*P 3G, P 3B repeat from \* to last 3 stitches, P 1B, P 1G, K 1B Repeat these two rows until the square is nearly the desired length, ending with a row 4 or arow8. Knit 2 rows Black Knit 2 rows Gold Knit 2 rows Black. Cast off. Colorwork Chart Except for the first and last stitch of every row, knit the odd-numbered rows and purl the even-numbered rows. The first stitch of every row is slipped purlwise and the last stitch of every row is knit. Odd Rows: read the chart from right to left and work the first chart once, then repeat the second chart until three stitches remain, then work the third chart. Even Rows: read the chart from left to right and work the first chart once, then repeat the second chart until three stitches remain, then work the third chart

Gold ●Black ∩ slip stitch purlwise K knit Repeat the chart until the square is nearly the desired length, ending with a row 4 or a row8. Knit 2 rows Black Knit 2 rows Gold Knit 2 rows Black. Cast off.
