For the Steelers fan in your life or for you. I designed this scarf for my sister who cheers for the Pittsburgh team. It was an instant success. You will need: Worsted yarn (Il used Bernat Satin in black (3), yellow (1), white (1), grey (1), blue (1) and red (1)) 5.0 mm (US 8) needles Pittsburgh Steelers Chart by Amanda Kretchun: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/ library/pittsburgh-steelers-chart Yarnneedle Gauge: 19 stitches and 24 rows = 4" (10 cm) in stockinette stitch The pattern: Cast on 57 stitches. Knit 6 rows. If you want an even edge, you can slip the first stitch of every row. After knitting these 6 rows, to form the border, knit the first 4 stitches (slip the first one then knit 3 if you want an even edge) and the last 4 stitches of the row (you will have a garter stitch border). Knit 20 rows in stockinette stitch. Knit the Steelers chart. (You could knit everything or only knit the white and grey and embroider the red, blue and yellow after). NOTE: There are 7 stitches on each side of the grey circle at its largest. Knit 33 rows in stockinette stitch - black. Knit 4 rows in stockinette stitch - yellow. Knit 2 rows in stockinette stitch - white. Knit 4 rows in stockinette stitch - yellow. Knit 32 rows in stockinette stitch - black. Knit 4 rows in stockinette stitch - yellow. Knit 2 rows in stockinette stitch - white. Knit 4 rows in stockinette stitch - yellow. Knit 120 rows in stockinette stitch - black. Knit 4 rows in stockinette stitch - yellow. Knit 2 rows in stockinette stitch - white. Knit 4 rows in stockinette stitch - yellow. Knit 32 rows in stockinette stitch - black. Knit 4 rows in stockinette stitch - yellow. Knit 2 rows in stockinette stitch - white. Knit 4 rows in stockinette stitch - yellow. Knit 33 rows in stockinette stitch - black. Knit the Steelers chart. Knit 20 rows in stockinette stitch. Knit 6 rows. Cast off. Weave in all the ends.
