Jersey Stripes Hat
Materials: Size 7 DPNs Worsted weight yarn

Caron Sunflower, Black, White Casted on 78 stitches with a provisional crochet chain with waste yarn.
Folded brim:
With black; Knit stockinette stitch for 6 rows, 1 garter, 6 more Stockinette rows. Fold at the Garter row and pick up the provisional end and knit two ends together all the way around. Knit 4 more rows with Black; then start stripe sequence as follows: 3 rows gold, 1 black, 3 white, 1 black, 10 gold, 1 black, 3 white, 1 black, 3 gold, 3 black Start decrease for crown by K2Tog, SSK at each end of the DPNs ever other row until 8 stitches remain, sew together to close crown. Block, Enjoy. Go Steelers!
Notes:
It is best to measure head size prior to starting. Everyone is different and you may decide to cast on 86-92 stitches for a bigger size. I like the folded brim because it is snug and doesn't leave a sloppy cast on edge to mess with. You may like a standard beanie klpl brim, but you decide. Just be sure that if you change the cast on method to start with provisional so that you can center the stripe sequence and go back to even it out as needed.
