Felting instructions:
Most people use the washing machine to felt - you can find many articles on the internet about this technique. I use the dryer because I feel it gives me more control plus it's rather quick. 1. Soak the item thoroughly in warm water, adding a drop or two of dish detergent if the item doesn't seem to be absorbing the water. 2. Wring out the water enough so that it doesn't drip and transfer it to the dryer. You can dry it by itself or add some other items to give more friction (such as dryer balls or an old pair of jeans) but don't put in anything that fuzzes (like a towel). Set the dryer to medium to high heat for 10 minutes; check item immediatel. 4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 until you are satisfied with the results.
Trim:
Bottom trim: With smaller hook, attach yarn B approximately /2 from bottom edge of cozy, inserting hook to make a hole between felted stitches. Work chain st on surface around the bottom of the cozy. When complete, use a tapestry needle to bring tail to inside of cozy and bury ends within the felted cozy. Page 2 of 3 ①2012 Maxine Pike.
