knit purl A purl 2sts together purlwise $\spadesuit$ knit st. worked through the back of the loop (twisted knit stitch) yarn over +edge stitch NB! All the shawl BACK SIDE ROWS are (purl), except for: garter edges $(\pmb{\lfloor\bigtriangledown})$ and double yarn over stitches $(\boxminus$ All the shawI FRONT SIDE ROWS rows knitted as shown in chart

YARN:
For sample shawl was used: Evilla $100\,\%$ wool, 8/2 $100\,\mathsf{g r}=400\,\mathsf{m}$ 3,53 ounces $=440$ yards Optional: Noro Kureyon Sock: $100\,\mathfrak{g r}=422,5\,\mathfrak{m}$ 3,53 ounces $\mathop{:}=462,$ 1 yards Almost every kind of yarn suitable as this pattern allows knit this shawl in desirable height.
CASTING ON:
Needles 3mm (4 needles) Cast on 5 stitches, knit 10 rows. Needle nr 1 is in work. Take 2nd needle and pick up 10 sts from left edge. Take 3rd needle and pick up 5 sts from bottom. Now you have 3 needles in work: 1. needle: $4+7$ stitches for left edge, 2. needle: 10 stitches for centre/body of shawl 3. needle: $\uparrow+4$ stitches for right edge Alltogether 20 stitches and $4^{\mathrm{th}}$ needle for knitting.
BODY OF SHAWL:
Needle 4 mm (4 needles, or 2 for experienced knitter) Row 1: By chart. Knit 4 sts garter, Purl $1+10+1$ sts, Knit 4 sts garter. Row 2: Knit 4sts garter, Purl $1+10+1$ sts, Knit 4 sts garter. Row 3: Knit 4sts garter, Purl $1+10+1$ sts, Knit 4 sts garter. Row 4: By chart Row 5: Purl Row 6: Knit, Row 7: Purl Row 8: By chart Row 9: Purl Row 10: Knit Row 11: Purl Row 12: By chart Row 13: Purl, Row 14:Knit, Row 15:Purl Row 16: By chart Row 17: Purl, Row 18:Knit, Row 19:Purl Row 20: By chart Row 21: Purl, Row 22:Knit, Row 23:Purl Row 24: By chart Row 25: Purl, Row 26:Knit, Row 27:Purl Add on circular needle and continue by chart and above style. Knit end of the chart or to desirable height.
FINISHING:
Crochet hook. Crochet $^{\ast}2$ sts together, 1 chain\* Weave in loose ends Wash shawl in mild water. Rinse, and wrap in towel to blot out water. Block by using frame, wires and/or needles. Lay flat by smoothing into shape. Pin the eyelets along top edges . Leave dry at least $12\,\mathsf{h}$
