CDPDELL THE DWL by Knitazoo

with his funnY face and big Swett tyes, lovely litle Cordell The Owl will makt You Smile tvery fimt You look at hin. A huggable Companion to hold tight, who wil aways bring You tondorntss and joY. Cordellis stiched on the round using double-pointed needles from bottom to head and is about 11 cm high. I used a bouclé yarn ("Ondina" from Mafil, made in Italy) but you can use whatever textured or bouclé or marled yarn that will give a ruffled-up look to Cordell. Don't worry about the gauge, the thicker the yarn, the bigger the owl! Keep the right proportion between the main colour (bulkier) and light yellow (thinner), and choose safety eyes accordingly. Always use a needle that is one size smaller than the one recommended for the yarn, so that the stuffing will not come Out.
MATERIAL:
One skein main colour (50 gr) is largely sufficient to knit Cordell. Plus you will need a little amount of light yellow for feet and beack and a little amount of white for eye-patches. Main colour, bouclé yarn, gray: Ondina (Mafil): 60% wool 40% polyacrylic, 50 gr 100m/109 yds @4 Light yellow: Woolissimo (Tropical Lane): 100% merinowool 50 gr 125 m/136 yds @2@

White: Morbidone (Rial): 100% merinowool superwash, 100 gr 180 m/196 yds @4 Safety eyes: 13-14 mm (better a little bigger than a little smaller!) - Stuffing - Wire glasses (optional) Double-pointed needles 4.5 (US 7) for main colour and white, 3.5 (US 4) for light yellow - Tapestry needle -Stitch marker ABBREVIATIONS: co:cast on BO:bind off k: knit kf&b: knit one st front and back k2tog: knit two sts together (a right-slanting decrease) ssk: slip, slip, knit (a left-slanting decrease) sskpo: slip two sts knitwise without knitting, knit one, pass over the two sts [] x times: means you have to repeat what is between parenthesis for given number of times (): the number in parenthesis is the number of stiches after completing the round. I-cord: work on two double-pointed needles. Put all your sts on one needle and work with a free needle. When you reach the end, do not turn but slide the sts back to the beginning of the needle. Pass the needle to the left hand, pull yarn tight and knit. You will obtain a cord.
NOTES:
Unless otherwise specified, you always use 3 double-pointed needles.
