TuTu Lamé Ruffled Wristers
Slip these novel, yet functional wristers over a long sleeved tee or lightweight sweater to add instantfashion and flavor to your outfit. Imagine these cute, sparkly ruffles peeking out from the sleeves of your favorite jacket. Pair them with the Mendocino Moebius with TuTu Lamé, and add zest to your ensemble. These ruffled wristers were knit with two outstanding textures from Crystal PalaceYarns, Mendocino and TuTu Lamé. (l had enough leftover TuTu Lamé from the Mendocino Moebius with TuTu Lame project to knit this pair.) I used two, size 6, 12" circular needles. (I recommend one, size 6, 9" circular needle as well, or one set of double pointed needles.) Gauge of the rib stitch cuffis 6 stitches per inch and 8 rounds per inch. Off the wrists, they are 7" long 5" in circumference. The size stretches to fit a ladies medium and on the wrists they are 5" in length and 7" in circumference. Should you need them larger or smaller, adjust the stitch count by multiples of two. Add a touch of sparkly zing to your wardrobe this fall and winter with these fun little wrist warmers.
Materials:
One ball of Crystal Palace Yarns, Mendocino. The color shown is #523, Cornucopia, 97 yards per ball. 1 Hank of Crystal Palace Yarns, TuTu Lamé. (10 yards per pair) The color shown is #310, Copper, 24 yards per hank. Two size 6 circular needles in a 12" inch length. OR One size 6 circular needle in a 9" length OR one set of size 6 double points. (l recommend using either length of the circular needles to knit theruffle.) Stitch marker. Yarn needle.
Construction:
The wristers are knit in the round, beginning with TuTu Lamé for the ruffle, then knitting Mendocino in a rib stitch. Use care when pulling them on and off to hold the fabric beyond the ruffle.

Directions:
Using TuTu Lamé , Cast on 15 stitches per following instructions. To cast on TuTu Lamé, fold over the first two spaces to tuck in the cut edge. The first two stitches are doubled. Do this again after three rounds of knitting to end TuTu Lamé. Going from the back to the front, insert the needle into the first doubled space, then over the top and into the second doubled space. 2 stitches cast on. Continue casting on from the back to the front with single spaces until there are 15 stitches on the needles. Place marker and join, being careful not to twist the stitches. Rounds 1-3: Knit three rounds in this manner: Using two spaces of TuTu Lamé for each increased stitch, one for the front and one for the back, knit into the front and back of each stitch and pass the first stitch over the last one. Do this increase and decrease on each stitch. This makes the ruffle more ruffled. End Tutu Lamé by knitting the last two stitches doubled. You are finished with the ruffle. Turn the work inside out. This will make the ruffles cascade ontopof eachother.

Next, add the second yarn, Mendcino, increasing the stitch count to 30. Note: If you are using one set of 9" circulars, continue knitting in the round as follows. If you are using two 12" circular needles, the stitches will have to be distributed evenly over both needles. At this point, if you would prefer to use double points, you may switch to them and continue as follows. Round 4: Using Mendocino, \*KFB (knit into the front and back) of each stitch\* until you have increased to 30 stitches. Round 5-39: \*K1, P1\* (Note: To avoid one long repeat of the same color blend, I knit each round alternating the working yarn between the outside and the inside of the ball. You may knit as many rounds as you like, making adjustments on the overall length of the wristers here. You may want to fold over the cuff, and require more length. You may want very short cuffs, so reduce the amount of rounds for your desired length.)
Bind Off:
Using Mendocino, bind off following these instructions: K1, P1 \*Slip both stitches back to the left needle, Knit them TOG through the back, K1, Slip both stitches back to the left needle, Knit them TOG through the back, P1, repeat from \* With the last stitch on the needle, locate the first stitch of the bind off round and pick up and knit it. Knit two together. Secure the final stitch and weave in ends.
Blocking and Care:
Blocking is not necessary. For care, soak the wristers for fifteen minutes in tepid water with a small amount of non-rinsing wool wash. Squeeze out excess water. Allow drying flat.
Enjoy!
