Mini ,Knubbelchen" (approx. 15 cm/ 6")
The ,little brother" (or the little sister) to the Original Knubbelchen pattern by pezi888 . "..can snuggle, comfort, encourage and conjure a smile on someone's face, too" Knits up quickly, fits in every (travel) bag and is a perfect "Thank you" or "Just because" gift!

Materials:
- 2 mm (US0) DPN set - approx. 25 g / 1 oz yarn (sock yarn or fingering weight remnants) solid color for the head, multi-colored or variegated for the hat and body
Head:
Cast on 20 sts for the head, leaving a long beginning tail to tie the head later. Join to round on DPN set and work in stockinette st for 15 rounds. rOm - Break the yarn, leaving a long tail for tying.
Body:
Join new color for the body ahd work inh stockinette st for 2 rounds (5 sts per needle). After these 2 rounds, increase in every other round by working a kfb into the 1st and last st on every needle, until you have 19 sts per needle. For arms, transfer sts of two opposite needles onto a holder or piece of waste yarn. Divide remaining sts evently between 4 needles. On two of the needles, cast on (1) additional underarm st ea. so that you now have 10 sts on every needle. Work in stockinette st for 6 rounds.
Legs and arms:
For the first leg, work in stockinette st rows on 2 needles over 20 sts (one RS and one WS row). Then, in every other row, ktog the two outmost sts of the row until only 4 sts are left on each needle. Ktog these 4 sts with the sts from the 2nd needle, now resulting in 4 sts per needle. Work even for 14 rows in st st over these 4 sts, then bind off, leaving a long tail for seaming. Work second leg the same way. Unhold arm sts and work both arms likewise.

Hat:
CO 24 sts, leaving a long beginning tail to sew on hat later. Join to round on DPN set (6 sts per needle) and work in stockinette st for 16 rounds. Then ktog in every other round the first two sts on needles 1 and 3 and the last two sts on needles 2 and 4 until only 2 sts are left per needle. Divide these sts evenly onto 2 needles (4 sts per needle) and ktog so that there are only 4 sts left. Work even in st st for another 5 cm (2 in) and bind off
Finishing:
Using the long tail from the head, held double, tightly tie the head where it passes into the body. Stuff head with fiber fill and tie at upper edge, too. (This spot will later be covered by the hat.) Slightly roll hat rim. Place hat on back part of head, making sure decrease lines are placed at the sides, and sew hat onto head.
