Materials:
1 skein Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick yarn in Charcoal size US 10.5/6.5mm double pointed needles large-eyed needle for weaving in ends 1 stitch marker 1 short piece of scrap yarn to hold stitches Gauge: 4"x4" stockinette stitch swatch = 11 st wide x 16 st tall

Abbreviations:
CO = cast on St st = stockinette stitch st = stitch(es) K = knit P = purl M1L = make one left M1R = make one right BO = bind off
Pattern:
CO 22 st. Divide evenly among your needles, leaving one needle free to begin knitting the first round. Round 1-8: Place stitch marker to mark beginning of round. Joining at the end to make the round, (K1, P1) for entire round. Round 9-10: K. Round 11: K1, M1L, K1, M1R, K around Round 12: K. Round 13: K1, M1L, K3, M1R, K around. Round 14: K. Round 15: K1, M1L, K5, M1R, K around. Round 16: K. Round 17: K1, M1L, K7, M1R, K around. Round 18: K. Round 19: K1, M1L, K9, M1R, K around. Round 20: K. Round 21: K2, place next 8 st on stitch holder (for the thumb), K around. Round 22: K. Round 23-27: (K1, P1) around. BO as to purl. Ihumb: Divide the 8 st on stitch holder among your needles, picking up 1 st on either end so that you have 10 stitches spread out over your needles. Rounds 1-8: K. Round 9: K2tog around (5 st). Cut yarn lace through remaining st, and pull tight. Weave in all ends.
