Copyright held by Heather Elizabeth White, November 2009 Yarn: Two skeins each of Knitpicks Shine Worsted in the follwing colors: Bachelor Button (C1) Cream (C2) Grass (C3) \*\*Pattern\*x Fished Size: $5\!\times\!7\!\times\!10$ \*Bottom\*\*: C1 eed Stitch, 24 sts by 62 sts after the last row, keep the 24 sts on the needles--they will be the first side. Place marker \*\*sides\*\*: with C2 Pick up & k30 sts PM, pick up & k24 sts, PM, pick up & k30 sts, PM. You should be back at the original 24 stitches. K to the first marker, then slip the marker, sl st, wrap & turn (w&t). sl st again, then k to the end of the row. Repeat in for 10 rows of g st, then switch to C3. Alternate with 8 row segments of g st in $c s\approx$ C1 until back pack is approximately 1o" tall. With C2, continue in pattern for five rows. At the beginning of the next row, YO twice, k2tog, k2, k2tog, repeat until end. Repeat in pattern until you have ten rows total of C2, then bind off.\*\*I-Cord\*\*: Knit 30 inches of 4 stitch icord in C1. Tie a knot at one end, and thread through eyelets. Tie a knot at the other end after it has been threaded through. \*\*\$traps\*\*:Pick up 7stitches on the side of the bag nearest the back Knit in seed stitch, creating a chain selvage at the edges, until strap is \~12" long. Bind off. Sew to bottom edge of bag on the back edge. Repeat on other side. \*\*pocke+\*\*: CO 24 stitches. Rows 1 & 4: Seed Stitch with chain selvage. Row 2: seed stitch 4 sts, bind off 4 sts, seed stitch 8 sts, BO 4 sts, seed stitch 4 sts. Row 3, seed stitch 4 sts, using cable cast on, CO 4 sts, seed stitch 8 stitches, cast on 4 sts, seed stitch 4 stitches. Row 5-18: Seed stitch first & last 4 stitches, SS center stitches. Row 19: Repeat Row 2 Row 20: Repeat Row 3 Row 21-22: Seed stitch Row 23: Cast Off Center on front of backpack and sew on using preferred method.
