Invading Your Earspace

Materials:
Cascade 220 Wool ( $100\%$ wool; 220 yards per $100\;\mathrm{g}$ skein): 1 skein in black (colorway 8555, MC) and 1 skein in light green (colorway 7814, CC) 1 16-in. circular needle in US #6 $\left(4\mathrm{mm}\right)$ , or whatever size is needed to achieve gauge 1 set dpns in US #6 $(4\mathrm{mm})$ , or whatever size is used for main part of hat yarn needle, stitch marker Gauge: 23 stitches $\textbf{x}30$ stitches $=4$ inches in stockinette, worked in the round.
Main part of hat:
CO 110 sts. in MC. Work one round in $^{*}\mathrm{kl}\;\mathrm{p}1^{*}$ rib. Join for working in a circle, being careful not to twist stitches. Place marker to show beginning of round. Work 19 more rows in k1 p1 rib. Change to stockinette stitch, increasing 1 st. $>>$ 111 sts. Work 22 more rows of stockinette. Following chart, work design panel over 20 rounds. In each round, work the design for section "A" 2 times (44 sts), and then the design for section “B" 1 time (23 sts), and then the design for section “A" 2 times (44 sts). Return to MC and work 5 more rows stockinette.
Crown:
(shift from circular needle to dpns when necessary) Round 1: k9, k2tog, $\mathbf{k}$ to end of row $>>110$ sts. Knit next round and all even rounds. Round 3: $^{*}\mathrm{k}8\;\mathrm{k}2\mathrm{tog}^{*}$ to end of round $>>99$ sts. Round 5: $^{*}\mathrm{k}7$ ， $\mathrm{k}2\mathrm{tog^{*}}$ to end of round $>>88$ sts. Round 7: $^{*}\mathrm{k}6$ ， $\mathrm{k}2\mathrm{tog^{*}}$ to end of round $>>77$ sts. Round 9: $^{*}\mathrm{k}5$ ， $\mathrm{k}2\mathrm{tog^{*}}$ to end of round $>>66$ sts. Round 11: $\mathrm{^{*}k4}$ $\mathrm{k}2\mathrm{tog^{*}}$ to end of round $>>55$ sts. Round 13: $^{*}\mathrm{k}3$ , k2tog\* to end of round $>>44$ sts. Round 15: $^{*}\mathrm{k}2$ ， $\mathrm{k}2\mathrm{tog^{*}}$ to end of round $>>33$ sts. Round 17: $^{*}\mathrm{kl}$ ， $\mathrm{k}2\mathrm{tog^{*}}$ to end of round $>>22$ sts. Round 19: $^{*}\mathrm{k}2\mathrm{tog^{*}}$ to end of round $>>11$ sts. Round 21: k1 $^{*}\mathrm{k}2\mathrm{tog^{*}}$ to end of round $>>6$ sts. Cut yarn, leaving a tail.
