Vim is knit in the round using a beautiful Italian blend of supersoft, loosely plied 60% cotton and 40% acrylic yarn. This lightweight worsted combination makes Vim a stylish, comfortable hat, perfect for transitional weather or for everyday wear in milder climates. The versatility of the DungarEase yarn makes Vim an easy-wear, easy-care accessory. If substituting yarn, be sure to check your gauge Vim weighs 73g (80g). Vim can be knit in two sizes, small (17" circumference] and medium (18" circumference]. The instructions for medium are given in parentheses following the small size. To make the hat slouchier, you can add another half a repeat [9 rnds] or a whole repeat [18 rnds] in your favorite color combination.

WHYVIM?
Vim - energy and enthusiasm Energetic and enthusiastic is what I felt when starting to knit again after a long break. I wanted to share a colorful, diverse and quick project with you. Vim is a casual, slouchy hat that can be knit with an endless combination of colors to match any mood and/or outfit. The reason I chose DungarEase yarn by Knit One Crochet Too is that it has 19 colors to choose from inbeautiful faded denim shadesforacasual look.

INSTRUCTIONS
With US 6 [4mm] circular needle, twisted German cast-on and CC1 (CC2), C0 92 [100) sts. Place marker [A) and join to begin working in the round, being careful not to twist the stitches. BRIM Work 2x2 rib. Rnd 1: k2, p2. Repeat rnd 1, 14 times. Increase rnd for small: Kfb, (k7, kfb] 4 times, [k8, kfb] 3 times, [k7, kfb] 4 times, 104 sts. Increase rnd for medium: Kfb, (k8, kfb) 11 times, 112 sts. BODY All rows of the body portion are worked in st st, where all stitches will be knit. Change to US 8 [5mm), 16" [40cm] circular needles. Start body fair isle, follow chart on page 4 for pattern repeat and color for each size. Rnd 1: using the body fair isle chart for color pattern, knit all sts in indicated color, placing marker (B) after each 8 st repeat. Rnds 2-36: k all sts in color indicated on the body fair isle chart.
CROWN
All rows of the crown portion are worked in st st with CC2, where all stitches will be knit. Use chart on page 5 to verify stitch count on each DPN. Change to US 6 (4mm) DPN. 4- 1mp, 1 aum 10mp, 1 aum, 1mp,1aum, 1mp,1aum, 11mp, 1 aum, 1mp, 1aum, 1mp,(38mp). 5-1mp, 1aum, 12mp, 1aum, 2mp,1aum, 2mp, 1aum, 12mp, 1aum, 2mp,1aum,1 mp.(44p Rnd 2: [k2tog, k21[23], ssk] to the end of rnd. Rnd 3: k all sts. (k2tog, k to 2 sts before marker, ssk. K 1 rnd) 10[11) times, until there are 3 sts on each DPN (12 sts]. Rnd 23[25] of the crown chart should have been completed. Break yarn leaving an 8" tail. Thread the yarn through the remaining sts. Pull the yarn snug to close the gap between sts and secure it to the inside (WS] of the hat. Weave in ends, block and enjoy.
