Materials:

H- 5mm Hook 150-170 yards Worsted weight yarn Scissor and tapestry needle

Stitches Used

·Ch=Chain S1 St=Slip Stitch- Insert hook into the stitch, pull up a loop and pull that loop through the first loop on your hook. SC=Single Crochet- Insert hook into the stitch, pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through the two loops HDC= Half Double Crochet- yarn over, insert hook into stitch, pull up a loop, yarn over pull through all three loops.

Gauge

13 hdc + 8 rows = about 4inches 10cm

Pattern Instructions

CH35 Row 1- Sc in the second change from the hook and the next 4 chains, hdc to the end. Turn (34sts) Row 2- Ch1, Hdc in the front bar of ea hdc across, sc in the 5 sc. Turn Row 3- Ch1, Sc in the next 5 sts, hdc in the front bar of each hdc to the end of the row.Turn Row4-39- repeat row 2 and 3.

Assembly:

Slip stitch up the side of the hat leave a long tail, 16in (40cm) to gather and stitch by hand the top of the hat.
