Spiral Ribbed Beanie with Pom Pom
Hand knit with super bulky weight yarn, this is a very quick project—most knitters will be able to complete this hat in a single night of knitting. This hat will fit most adults, but to upsize, use size 13 needles.
Materials:
80 yards super bulky yarn, such as Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick& Quick or Hometown USA One 16" circular knitting needle, size 11 One set of four size 11 double pointed needles Scissors, large yarn needle 2"-3" pom pom maker, or heavy cardboard cut to 2"-3" width One stitch marker Row counter

Instructions: Cast on 47. Place marker to show the end of row, but you will mostly ignore this marker. Do be sure to count each row as you reach the marker, but continue working in 4 x 4 rib as if there werenomarker. Join to begin working in the round Rows 1-20: \*k4, p4\* repeat to last 4 stitches of row 20, k4 Now, begin knitting row by row, noticing the end of row. Row 21: \*p4, k2tog, k2\*repeat to last 7 stitches, p4, k2tog, k1(41) Row 22: k1, \*p4, k3\*repeat to last 5 stitches, p4, k1 (41) Row 23: k2, \*p4, k2tog, k1\*repeat to last 4 stitches, p4(36) Row 24: (a good place to switch to double points): \*k2, p4\* Row 25: \*k2, p2tog, p2\* (30) Row 26: \*k2, p3\* (30) Row 27: \*K2, p2tog, p1\*(24) Row 28:\*k2tog, p2\*(18) Row 29:\*k, p2tog\*(12) Row 30: \*p2tog\*(6) Cut yarn with a long tail, and using yarn needle, run yarn through each stich. Pull snug, then fasten off and weave in ends. Make a 2" - 3" pom pom, and sew securely to top of hat.
