FORTIFIED a fun and cozy scarf

As soon as summer starts to fade, the first thought that goes through my head is “where is my favorite scarf?" After a hot sweaty Philadelphia summer, I really look forward to bundling up. And nothing says cozy like this soft, thick, alpaca blend scarf. The yarn is light and airy so it's perfect for the fall, but am ready for when cold winds start blowing! PATTERN NOTES
The checkerboard blocks on the edges of the pattern are made by binding off and casting on (backwards loop). Make sure you do not make your bind-offs and cast-ons to tight. This will ensure that they are nice and square, and do not get rounded over at the corners.
