HORGRuy SOcKS
Is Harry's scar the last Horcrux?

Gauge & Size:
Knit at a gauge of 5 sts per inch (measured in stockinette stitch knit in the round), these socks will have a finished circumference of approx 8 inches and should fit a woman's medium-width foot. If you would like a narrower sock, choose yarn and needles that give you a gauge of 5.5 sts per inch. The finished sock is fairly stretchy so take this into consideration when choosing your gauge. The length is customizable.
Materials:
Yarn: approx. 250 yards of worsted weight yarn Needles: set of 5 double-pointed needles in any size that will give you gauge with the yarn you've chosen. Cuff: Loosely CO 40 sts. Join into the rnd without twisting the sts Rnds 1-15: \*k3, p2; repeat from \* to eor.
Note: On Rnd 15, the beginning of the rnd temporarily shifts 1 st to the left.
Rnd 1: \*k3, k2tog, yo; repeat from \* to eor. Rnd 2 and all even Rnds: Knit all sts. Rnd 3: \*k2, k2tog, yo, k1; repeat from \* to eor. Rnd 5: \*k1, k2tog, yo, k2; repeat from \* to eor. Rnd 7: \* k2tog, yo, k3; repeat from \* to eor. Rnd 9: \* k1, yo, ssk, k2; repeat from \* to eor. Rnd 11: $\ast\,\mathsf{k}2$ , yo, ssk, k1; repeat from \* to eor. Rnd 13: \*k3, yo, ssk; repeat from \* to eor. Rnd 15: k1, $^{*}\mathtt{k}3$ , yo, ssk; repeat from \* to eor. At the end of the rnd, it will be necessary to “borrow" the first st from Rnd 16 to work the last ssk. Once you have completed Rnd 16, move the st created by that last ssk back to the left ndl. Rnd 17: sl 1 (the last ssk from Rnd 15), k2, k2tog, yo, \*k3, k2tog, yo; repeat from \* to eor. Rnd 19: $\ast\mathbf{k}2$ , k2tog, yo, k1; repeat from \* to eor. Rnd $21:{}^{\ast}\mathbf{k}1$ , k2tog, yo, k2; repeat from \* to eor. Rnd 23: \* k2tog, yo, k3; repeat from \* to eor. Rnd 24: Knit all sts. Rnds 25-29: \*k3, p2; repeat from \* to eor. Heel: Flap: K9, place the next 20 sts onto a piece of waste yarn (these are the instep sts), turn. Row 1: sl 1, p19, turn. Row 2: sl 1, k19, turn. Repeat Rows 1-2, 9 times (18 total heel flap rows). Turn the Heel: Row 1: sl 1, p12, p2tog, turn. Row 2: sl 1, k6, ssk, turn. Row 3: sl 1, p6, p2tog, turn. Repeat Rows 2-3 until all heel sts are used up. The right side of the sock is facing you and 8 heel sts remain. Gussets: Divide the 8 heel sts evenly onto 2 dpns. Remove the instep sts from the waste yarn and place them on 2 dpns. Ndl 1: Pick up and knit 10 sts from the side of the heel flap. Ndls 2 & 3: Work sts in established rib pattern. Ndl 4: Pick up and knit 10 sts from the side of the heel flap and knit 4 heel sts. You are now knitting in the round again. Round 1: Ndl 1: Knit to the last 3 sts, k2tog, k1. Ndl 2 & Ndl 3: Work sts in established rib pattern. Ndl 4: K1, ssk, knit to the end of the ndl. Round 2: Ndl 1 & Ndl 4: Knit all sts. Ndl 2 & Ndl 3: Work sts in established rib pattern. Repeat these two rnds until you have decreased back to 40 sts. Foot: Continue working in established rib pattern until foot is approx 1.5 inches less than the total desired length. Toe: Round 1: Ndl 1 & Ndl 3: Knit to the last 3 sts, k2tog, k1. Ndl 2 & Ndl 4: K1, ssk, knit to the end of the ndl. Round 2: Knit all sts on all ndls. Repeat these two rnds until 24 sts remain. Repeat Round 1 until 12 sts remain. Knit the sts from Ndl 1 onto Ndl 4. Transfer the sts from Ndl 3 to Ndl 2. You should have 6 sts on each needle. Break the yarn, leaving an 18-inch tail. Graft the toe closed using the Kitchener stitch.
