CO 144 sts and divide evenly across 4 dpns (36 sts per needle). Being careful not to twist, join in the round. Rnd 1: knit Rnd 2: $^{\ast}\mathrm{k}2\mathrm{tog}^{\ast}$ , repeat around (72 sts remain) Rnd 3: knit Rnd 4: $\mathbf{^{*}k}2\mathrm{tog}^{*}.$ , repeat around (36 sts remain) Continue working in stockinette until piece measures about $9^{\prime\prime}$ long, or almost the length of the wine bottle from the bottom to where it begins to slope inward. Decrease as follows: Rnd 1: $^{\ast}\mathrm{k}1$ $\mathrm{k}2\mathrm{tog}^{\ast}$ , repeat around (24 sts remain) Rnd 2: knit Rnd 3: $^{\ast}\mathrm{k}1$ $\mathrm{k}2\mathrm{tog^{*}}$ repeat around (16 sts remain) Rnd 4: knit BO all stitches loosely. Weave in all ends, and use yarn to sew buttons onto ghost. Adorn wine bottle and prepare to give a scary surprise!
