FROG CROCHET PATTERN # 127


You will need:
Crochet hook (I used 2.75mm; US size C) Sewing needle Green color yarn: approx. 137yds (125m) Red color yarn: approx. 33yds (30m) Black color yarn: approx. 1.1yds (1m) White color yarn: approx. 1.1yds (1m) Stuffing Pattern can be made with sport or worsted weight yarn. Frog size: 8.7 inch (22cm), when done with sport weight yarn. Note: The size of frog may vary depending on the size of hook and yarn you use.
Abbreviations:
ch - Chain Stitch sc - Single Crochet st/sts - Stitch/Stitches sl st - Slip Stitch inc (Increase) - 2 sc into 1 st dec (Decrease) - 1 sc over 2 sts (I recommend using invisible decrease)
Instructions:
I worked in continuous rounds. You may use a stitch marker to mark beginning of rounds. The number (red color) at the end of each round is the number of stitches you should now have.
Head (make 2 green and 1 red):
Green color yarn: ch 2 Rnd. 1: 6sc in 2nd ch from hook; 6sts Rnd. 2: inc in each sc; 12sts Rnd. 3: (sc in next sc, inc) repeat around; 18sts Rnd. 4: (sc in next 2sc, inc) repeat around; 24sts Rnd. 5: (sc in next 3sc, inc) repeat around; 30sts Rnd. 6: (sc in next 4sc, inc) repeat around; 36sts Rnd. 7: (sc in next 5sc, inc) repeat around; 42sts Rnd. 8: (sc in next 6sc, inc) repeat around; 48sts Rnd. 9: (sc in next 7sc, inc) repeat around; 54sts Rnd. 10: (sc in next 8sc, inc) repeat around; 60sts Rnd. 11-12: sc around; 60sts Finish one part. Make up the same two other parts, one red and the other green (do not finish the second green part, you will now continue to join all three parts to complete the head).

Body:
Green color yarn: ch 2 Rnd. 1: 6sc in 2nd ch from hook; 6sts Rnd. 2: inc in each sc; 12sts Rnd. 3: (sc in next sc, inc) repeat around; 18sts Rnd. 4: (sc in next 2sc, inc) repeat around; 24sts Rnd. 5: (sc in next 3sc, inc) repeat around; 30sts Rnd. 6: (sc in next 4sc, inc) repeat around; 36sts Rnd. 7: (sc in next 5sc, inc) repeat around; 42sts Rnd. 8: (sc in next 6sc, inc) repeat around; 48sts Rnd. 9: (sc in next 7sc, inc) repeat around; 54sts Rnd. 10: (sc in next 8sc, inc) repeat around; 60sts Rnd. 11-12: sc around; 60sts Rnd. 13: (dec, sc in next 8sc) repeat around; 54sts Rnd. 14: sc around; 54sts Rnd. 15: (dec, sc in next 7sc) repeat around; 48sts Rnd. 16: sc around; 48sts Rnd. 17: (dec, sc in next 6sc) repeat around; 42sts Rnd.18: sc around; 42sts Rnd. 19: (dec, sc in next 5sc) repeat around; 36sts Rnd. 20: sc around; 36sts Rnd. 21: (dec, sc in next 4sc) repeat around; 30sts Finish and leave long end to sew head to the body.

Arms (make 2)
The arm has to be filled with stuffing while you're crocheting it. Stuff arms lightly. Green color yarn: ch 2 Rnd. 1: 6sc in 2nd ch from hook; 6sts Rnd. 2: inc in each sc; 12sts Rnd. 3: (sc in next sc, inc) repeat around; 18sts Rnd. 4-5: sc around; 18sts Rnd. 6: (dec, sc in next sc) repeat around; 12sts Rnd.7-9: sc around; 12sts Start to stuff the arm. Rnd. 10: sc in next 5sc, dec, sc in next 6sc; 12sts Rnd. 11-17: sc around; 12sts Rnd. 18: dec, sc in next 10sc; 11sts Rnd. 19-20: sc around; 11sts Rnd. 21: dec, sc in next 9sc; 10sts Rnd. 22-24: sc around; 10sts Finish and leave long end to sew leg to the body. Make two legs.

Eyes (make2)
Black color yarn: ch 2 Rnd. 1: 6sc in 2nd ch from hook; 6sts Red color yarn: Rnd. 2: inc in each sc; 12sts Rnd. 3: (sc in next sc, inc) repeat around; 18sts White color yarn: Rnd. 4: (sc in next 2sc, inc) repeat around; 24sts Green color yarn: Rnd. 5: (sc in next 3sc, inc) repeat around; 30sts Rnd. 6-9: sc around; 30sts Rnd. 10: (dec, sc in next 3sc) repeat around; 24sts Rnd. 11: sc around; 24sts Rnd. 12: (dec, sc in next 2sc) repeat around; 18sts Rnd. 13 dec, sc in next screpeat round; 12sts Start to stuff the eye. Rnd. 14: dec around; 6sts Finish, sew the hole shut. Make two eyes.

FINISHING DETAILS
Making head. Now you will join all parts of the head. Hold the two green pieces with wrong sides together and sc through 2 loops on each piece (4 loops total) for 30 sts; 30sts

After joining green parts the head should look like this. Do not cut the yarn.

Now you will join red part of the head.

Sc one stitch from the red piece and one stitch from the green piece together through all 4 loops around. Should be 60 sts or 30 sts top and 30 sts bottom. Stuff the head lightly while joining red part;

After joining all parts, the head should look like this.
