Instruction:
The shawl consists of two parts. First the basic shawl will be knit with short rows (there won't be a description) and then the edge will be ktog with stitches of the basic shawl. The edge will be worked on the right side of the shawl. The amount of stitches is variable to the length you want your shawl to have. Just make sure you can divide your stitches through 6 plus 2ostitches for the beginning and ending of the edge. The shawl can be worked in garter stitches or stockinette stitches. If you knit the basic shawl in stockinette stitches it might be better to work few rows of moss stitches so your shawl won't roll in. The edge will be worked in garter stitches, the chart only show the Rs, knit the WS. The shape of the Basic Shawl is variable, too. I used an asymmetric shape and placed the short rows on the left side each 5. Stitch and on the right side each 9.stitch. Just let your imagination run. Let's Go! CO 344 stitches and knit one row. Start with the short rows in row 2. Work the shawl until you have only few stitches left. Then work two rows in garter stitches over all stitches. If you work the basic shawl in stockinette stitches you must see the knit-side (RS) now. Now follow the Chart. For M1 you knit one stitch out of the first stitch but you won't move the first stitch to the right needle, turn work and knit this M1-stich = Row 1! Turn work, yo, ktog the M1 with the first stitch of the basic shawl (see legend), turn work and knit 1 stitch and the yo = row3. Turn work and continue to work the stitches of the chart for the edge. Work rows 23-34 as many times as needed. I worked them 54x. At the end k3tog or slip one stitch, k2tog, pass the slipped stitch over, pul yarn through the last stitch and wave in all ends. The shawl will enjoy a nice bath before blocking I'm more than excited to see your shawls. Enjoy knitting Claudia Copyright@ CoonieKnits/ Claudia Nelson, Nurnberg, Germany 2012. For private use only!
