Yesterday was a really bad day. My favorite red crayon broke (RIGHT IN HALF!) before I finished drawing on the dining room wall so I had to switch to purple! Then just as I was making a fun lake on the living room rug with my juice-box, Mommy came over and started yelling about something: what a cranky-pants she can be! And THEN, somehow the car got lost again and took us to the pediatrician, of all things! I yelled and kicked as hardas I could, and they finally understood and got us out of that terrible place; they can be so STUPID sometimes! Boy, when I learn to talk I will have A LOTto teach them... But today promises to be a fine day! I'm stylin' with the sunhat and pocketbook Grandma made (SHEunderstands me!), and we are all packed up to go to the playground. There are swings, and slides, and a sea-saw and even sand to hide in Grandma's pocketbook when she isn't looking (what a fun surprise THAT will be for her when she gets home)! I hope that cute boy is there again; last week he spit up on me - I think that means we're going steady!

OPTIONAL LINING

I don't want to make you crazy, but it looks really sweet if you use some flowered cotton fabric to make a liner for the pocketbook. It isn't very hard, but you can skip it if you want. If you're up for it: Fold the fabric over so it is doubled, with right sides facing each other. Take one of the Motifs and lay it on the fabric, leaving at least " extra fabric around the edges. Trace on the fabric around the 4 sides of the Motif with a fabric marker (ignoring the handle) so you have a square traced out the size of the motif. Then, leaving " extra fabric on the edges of your traced square, cut out the 2 squares through both layers of the fabric. Take on of the fabric squares and fold over " on one of the edges of the fabric so wrong sides are touching and sew this fold using a running stitch for the top edge of liner. Do the same for the other fabric square. Hold the two fabric squares together with right sides facing, and sew them together on 3 sides at the line you marked with the Fabric marker, using a running or backstitch. Trim excess fabric from the 3 sides so there is a " seam.

PUT THE MOTIFS TOGETHER

Hold the 2 crocheted motif squares with Right Sides facing each other and sc the 3 sides together, using one loop from each. Turn the little pocketbook right side out. If you were brave enough to make the liner, put it inside the pocketbook and sew it into place along the inside of the top opening, about 1/8" down from opening. Optionally sew a Rosette onto the 4 places where the handle meets the pocketbook body. Cut yarn and weave in ends. Put some cute toys inside and she's ready to go!
