Mini TARDIS by Jen Spears

Who doesn't want their very own TARDIS? This one is about 4 inches tall and 2 inches wide. The windows are felt, panes drawn with permanent marker, and the signs are printed from a photo I found online and glued on. I am horrible at embroidery - fabric glue is our friend!

Walls (Make 4)

Row 1: Chain 7, sc in second chain from hook and each ch across, ch 1, turn. 6 sc Rows 2-14: Sc in each st across, ch 1, turn Fasten off, leaving long tail for sewing (about 18 inches) Line up the walls all facing the same direction. (Your preference on which side is the outside and which is the inside, just make sure they are all the same direction.) Sew walls together using blo, i.e. the loop from each wall that is closest to the other, leaving the other (front) loop on each wall unworked.

Bottom ridge:

Round 1: Attach yarn with sl st in first ch of any wall, ch 2, hdc around in front loops only, join with sl st in top of ch 2, fasten off. 24 hdc Fold this row to the front. You can tack it into place if you like, but it isn't necessary.

Top Ridge:

Work same as bottom ridge, using front loops only Top: Round 1: Attach yarn with sc in first free back loop (working behind top ridge) of any wall, sc around in free loops. 24 sc Round 2: Using both loops from here on, (dec, sc, sc, dec) 4 times. 16 sc Round 3: (dec, dec) 4 times. 8 sc Fasten off leaving long tail. Weave tail through last 8 sc, pull tightly together to form a top knot. Sew yarn around top knot to smooth over the top if desired. Weave end in securely before cutting.

Windows:

White felt: Cut 8 rectangles inch by inch Draw in window pane lines with permanent marker (other markers may bleed) Use fabric glue to glue into place using photo as a guide

Signs:

Embroider, use more felt, or print a photo of the TARDIS like I did and cut the signs from that. Use fabric glue to glue into place using photo as a guide. Have fun time traveling!
