DIRECTIONS
2X2 RIBBING
Using long tail method, CO 48 (52, 56) sts. Divide sts evenly on 3 dpns, and be careful not to twist. Rnd 1-4: [K 2, P 2] around.
HAT BODY
Rnd 5: K all sts around. Repeat rnd 5 until hat measures 3.5 (4, 4.5) from cast on edge.
SHAPE CROWN
Rnd 1: (k4, k2tog) around. Rnd 2 (and all even rows): k all sts. Rnd 3: (k3, k2tog) around. Rnd 5: (k2, k2tog) around. Rnd 7: (k1, k2tog) around. Rnd 9: k2tog around.
FINISHING
Break yarn, leaving a long tail. Use darning needle to thread yarn through remaining sts. Pul yarn tight and secure. Weave in all ends. NOTE: When decreasing the larger size hats, you will have stitches left over after the last k2tog - two extra for the 0-3 month size, and four extra for the 3-6 month size. These stitches will be absorbed into the decreases as you go along, have no fear!
