MATERIALS:
YARN: African Expressions HARMONY (50g 87 m ball; contents: 100% Merino Wool) in Blue (code 2217): For SCARF: 6 balls; For HAT: 1 ball. NEEDLES: For ScARF: a circular needle or a set of single-pointed needles size 4.5 mm For HAT: a set of 5 double-pointed needles size 3.75 mm. MARKERS. TENSION: For SCARF: Needles size 4.5 mm—-or size needed to get 20 sts x 22 rows in Patt A = 10 x 10 cm. For HAT: Needles size 3.75 mm—or size needed to get 22 sts x 28 rows in Patt B = 10 x 10 cm. WASH YOUR SWATCH BEFORE MEASURING.TAKE TIME TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. HAT
CO 92 sts using a set of 5 double-pointed needles size 3.75 mm (23 sts on each of 4 needles). Insert marker at beg of row. Work row 1 & 3 in K and row 2 in P. Cont in Patt B until piece meas 20 cm. Dec 1 st at the beg of each needle. When 4 sts left of each needle, dec 2 sts on each needle. Then dec 1 st on each needle and finish by K2tog the rem st.
SCARF
CO 46 sts using needle size 4.5 mm. Work 3 rows in g st. Allfol(ing) rows are formed: \*P4, Patt A for SCARF, and P4 the last 4 sts of each row\*. Work until piece meas about 188 cm and finish with 3 rows in g st. B0 all sts. ASSEMBLY & FINISHING: None required.
