The silly fox scarf

Dimensions:
Length: 133 cm (measuring from nose to the end of tail) Width: 20 cm (measuring the main body of the scarf)

Materials:
\* Color A: 3 skeins of an 8ply wool yarn in red \* Color B: 1 skein of an 8ply wool yarn in light gray Color C: 1 skein of an 8ply wool yarn in dark gray (You will not use all of the light and dark gray yarn, so if you have leftovers from other projects, you can use them here.) \* 1 pair straight knitting needles, no 4,5 \* 1 crochet hook no 4 \* red and grey thread \* tapestry needle to sew the pieces together Gauge: It's not that important, but check it anyway to avoid resulting with a very narrow scarf. My gauge with the 8ply yarn in garter stitch and needles no 4,5 is 17sts x 30 rows = 10cm
Pattern:
1st row: With color B (light grey) cast on 4 stitches with the long tail method. Purl all stitches. , make 1 stitch, purl 2, make 1 stitch, purl 1 (6 stitches in total 3rd and 4th rows: purl all stitches 1 row: purl 1, make 1, purl 4, make 1, purl 1 (8 stitches in total 6th and 7th rows: purl all stitches ow: purl 1, make 1, purl 6, make 1, purl 1 (10 stitches in total) 9th and 1oth rows: purl all stitches. Continue the same way, increasing 2 stitches every 3rd row, until you have 36 stitches. Then change to color C (dark grey) and continue knitting according to the pattern (increasing every 3rd row) until you have 42 stitches. There will be no more increases from this point and on. From now on slip purlwise the 1st stitch in every row Change to color A (red) and knit 8 rows in garter stitch (purl all rows), then change again to color C (dark grey) and knit 6 rows in garter stitch. Change to color A (red) and knit as follows: 1st row: slip the 1st stitch, purl all stitches 2nd row: purl 2tog, purl to the last 2 stitches, purl 2tog (40 stitches in total) 3rd row: slip the 1st stitch, purl all stitches 4th row: as row 2 (38 stitches in total) 5th row: slip the 1st stitch, purl all stitches

The slip 1 method gives a nice edging 6th row: as row 2 (36 stitches in total) Continue knitting in garter stitch (slipping purlwise the 1st stitch in every row) until piece measures 114 cm from CO edge. Then change to color C (dark grey) and knit 6 rows in garter stitch. Change again to color A (red) and knit 8 rows in garter stitch. Then change to color C (dark grey) and knit another 8 rows in garter stitch. With color B (light gray) start the decreasing section: 1st row and all odd numbered rows: slip 1 st purlwise, purl 2tog, purl all stitches to the last 3 sts, then purl 2 tog, purll. 2nd and all even numbered rows: slip 1 purlwise, purl to the end. Continue the same way until you have only 4 stitches left. Then \*purl 2tog, purl 2tog

\*purl 2tog. Cut yarn, pass the tail through the remaining loop and fasten. Weave in all loose ends. Your work should measure 133 cm from the cast-on to the cast-of edge.
Nose:
Cast on 5 st 1st row: purl all stitches 2nd row: slip 1 knitwise, make 1 increase by knitting 2 in the same stitch,kl,make1 increase by knitting 2 in the same stitch, k1 (7 stitches in total) 3rd and all odd numbered rows: slip 1 purlwise, purl to the end

4th row: slip 1 knitwise, make 1 increase by k2 in the same stitch, knit 3, make 1 increase by knitting 2 in the same stitch, k1 (9 stitches in total) 6th row: slip 1 knitwise, make 1 increase by k2 in the same stitch, knit 5, make 1 increase by knitting 2 in the same stitch, k1 (11 stitches in total) 8th row: slip 1 knitwise, make 1 increase by k2 in the same stitch, knit 7, make 1 increase by knitting 2 in the same stitch, k1 (13 stitches in total) 10th row: Cast of all stitches, weave in all loose ends.
Eyes (make 2)
With the crochet hook and using the black yarn chain 6, slip stitch into the first chain to form a ring. Work the first round stitches into the ring (12 stitches) 2nd round: continue with black: 1 (sc) single crochet, 2 scinto the same stitch - continue the same way all around (18 stitches in total) 3rd round: change to color B (light grey): 1 sc, 2sc in the same stitch - continue the same way all around

4th round: change to color A (red): 4 slip stitch, 2 sc in the same stitch, 1 sc, 2 half double crochet (hdc) in the same stitch, 1hdc, 2 double crochet (dc) in the same stitch, 1dc, 2 treble crochet (tr) in the same stitch, 2 dc in the same stitch, 1 dc, 2hdc in the same stitch, 1hdc, 2 sc in the same stitch, slip stitch to the end of round. Brake yarn and fasten secure. Weave in all loose ends. If you are not familiar with the crocheting, you can use felted fabric to make the eyes.
Ears (make 2)
With color C (dark grey), cast on 16 stitches.

1st row: purl all stitches. 2nd row (right side): slip 1 purlwise, purl to the end. :rd and all odd numbered rows: slip 1 purlwise, purl to the en 4th and all even numbered rows: slip 1 purlwise, p2tog, purl to last 3 stitches, purl2tog, purl 1 Continue until you have 4 stitches left: purl 4 (wrong side) purl 2 tog, purl 2 tog (right side) purl 2 tog and fasten of. With the crochet hook and black yarn: slip stitch around the two sides of the triangle that form the ear. Brake yarn, weave in all loose ends.
Finishing:

Block nose, eyes and ears, then using the thread sew them to right place (refer to photos).
