Be sure to swatcb for the colorwork gauge! Colorwork can magnif diferences in tension between one knitterto the next. $I f_{\l}$ you want your bhat to fit, be sure to make thbe colorwork gauge!! Using waste yarn, provisionally cast on 144 stitches. Join MC, work through as charted below. Weave in ends. For hat lining, remove waste yarn and pick up stitches. Purl one row with MC, making sure to decrease evenly across the row until you have 120 stitches. The purpose of this decrease on the purl row is to ensure that the brim of your hat does not awkwardly flare out. Knit one row. Join lining yarn. Continue in stockinette stitch for $2{-}3^{\circ}$ . Bind off loosely. Sew liner into hat.
