Berrnat satin soft Or any of your scrap yarn Yarn Weight Worsted Medium Gauge 5 Stitches per inch Abbreviations: MR- Magic Ring CH-Chain HDC-Half Double Crochet INC-Increase SC- Single Crochet SI St- Slip Stitch To begin, MR R1: CH 2, 7 HDC into ring, sI st (8HDC) R2: CH 2, HDC in same place, 2HDC in every stitch around, sl st. (18 HDC) R3: CH2, HDC in same place, 2HDC in every stitch around, sl st. (36 HDC) R4: CH2, HDC I next stitch, 2HDC in the next,\*\* HCD in each of next 2 stitches, 2 HDC next, Repeat from \*\* all the way around (48 HDC) R5: CH3, 2 DC in same place, skip 2, SC in next, \*\*Skip 2, 5DC in next (shell made), skip 2, SC in the next, repeat from \*\*, 2 DC in place of beginning chain (to complete shell), slip stitch on top of beginning CH3 (8 shells made) R6: CH1 where you sl st, \*\*skip 2, 5 DC in the next or between two shells, skip 2, SC on top of next shell, repeat from \*\*, sl st the beg.CH1 R7: on the sl st just made, CH3, 2DC in same place, \*\*skip 2, SC in the next, skip 2, 5DC in the next, repeat from \*\*, 2 DC in the beg. CH 3 to complete shell, sl st on top of CH3. \*\*\*Repeat R6 and R7 until you get 3 vertical rows of shell if you wish to add trimming, attach new color as you do your last sl st, and do a SC in every stitch but sl st in every valley or between shells.
