This is a knitting pattern for a "thick and quick" slouchy hat with an owl perched on the brim. You can whip one of these up pretty quickly in an afternoon. It can be worn slouchy or roll the brim up and it can be a scull cap. Size Chart: Size 1: 6-12 months Size 2: 1-2 years Size 3: 3 years-small adult Size 4: large adult The sizes will be written in the pattern as follows: 1 (2, 3, 4) Supplies: Size 10 US $(4\;\mathrm{mm})$ , 16 inch circular knitting needles 5, Size 10 US $(4\mathrm{mm})$ , Double Sided Needles Cable Needle Bulky Weight Yarn

Special Abbreviations:

C4B (Cable Four Back): Worked over 4 sts. Place the first 2 sts on cable needle, hold in back of work, k2, then $\mathrm{k}2$ from the cable needle. C4F (Cable Four Front): Worked over 4 sts. Place the first 2 sts on cable needle, hold in front of work, k2, then k2 from the cable needle.

Pattern:

Cast on 56 (64, 72, 80) sts. Place a marker, then join, being careful not to twist. (Size 1 may need to be split up over the double pointed needles if it does not fit on the circular needle.) Body: Rounds 1-4: Knit Round 5: K3, C4B, C4F, K to end of round Rounds 6-12: Knit Round 13: K3, C4B, C4F, K to end of round Round 14: Knit Rounds 15-16: K4, P2, K2, P2, K to end of round Round 17-18: Knit Round 19: K3, C4B, C4F, K to end of round Rounds 20-26: Knit Decreasing Rounds: Round 1: $^{*}\mathrm{K}6$ , K2 tog., repeat from \* around. Round 2: Knit Round 3: $^{*}\mathrm{K}5$ , K2 tog., repeat from \* around. Round 4: Knit Round 5: $\mathrm{*K4}$ , K2 tog., repeat from \* around.
