Gauge:
Approx. 20 sts = 4" [10 cm] in Stockinette st with larger (Us8/5mm) needles.

Yarn:
Lamana Cusco (100% Alpaca), 2 skeins; 50g/93yds/85m per skein. OR any other DK-weight yarn to achieve the correct gauge. Needles: US 8 (5 mm) 16"/40 cm circular needle.) US 6 (4 mm) 16"/40 cm circular needle. Adjust the needle size to get the correct gauge. Other: Cable needle, tapestry needle, stitch marker.

Brim
CO 64(76, 88, 100) sts with smaller (US6/4mm) needles. Join in the round, pm to indicate the beginning of a rnd. Rnd 1: \*k2, p2\*, rep \*-\* to end. Continue k2, p2 ribbing for approx. 2"(5 cm).
Body
Change to larger (US8/5mm) needles. Work set up rnd for cable pattern: K10(14, 18, 22), pm (cable patt marker), \*p2, mlr, k2, m1l\*, rep \*-\* once, p2, pm, k to end. (Four [4] sts increased). Next rnd: K to cable patt marker, sm, work cable pattern, sm, k to end. Repeat above rnd until hat measures approx. 7(8, 9.5, 10)" /18(20, 23, 25) cm from the CO edge and end with rnd 3 of the cable pattern.
Crown shaping:
Decrease rnd: \*K2tog\*, rep \*\* to end. Repeat decrease rnd 2 more times. Cut yarn leaving a 8" /20 cm tail. Pull the yarn through the remaining sts and pull tight. Weave in the yarn ends. Enjoy!
