Circular shawl By Christelle Nihoul Gauge: 15 sts / 24 rows in garter stitch per 10 cm/4 inch after blocking Suggested Yarn: Les Laines du Scarabée Azuré (230 m / 100 g) color Porcelaine approx. 370 m / 405 yds Notions and needles: 100 cm (36") 5 mm (US8) circ needle Tapestry needle Size: 170 cm x 35 cm / 67"x 13 3/4"
Note :
Every knitter knits with his or her personal tension, thus gauge isn't important. If the gauge is bigger, the shawl will be wider and longer; if the gauge is smaller, the shawl will be narrower and shorter. Gauge will alter yardage, however, so if you are a looser knitter than indicated, please allow more yarn for your shawl. If you want to enlarge the shawl, you must do as follows: The lace pattern is a multiple of 12 sts, therefore you must knit 4 more rows to add a full lace pattern repeat.

Construction
This shawl has a circular shape starting with a garter tab cast on. The body is worked with garter st and the edge is worked parallel to the body. Knit loosely every edge st to have an loose edge for the blocking.

Weave in loose ends. Wet-block the shawl. To wet block the shawl fill a sink with lukewarm water and a small amount of no-rinse wool shampoo (e.g., Eucalan, Soak, Kookaburra). Place the shawl in the bowl & do not submerge. Allow it to sit until it has absorbed enough water to drive out all the air bubbles & sink into the bowl. Drain the sink and gently squeezethe shawl toremove excess water. Place it between two towels and roll them to extract the remaining moisture. Use T-Pins and Blocking Wires (if desired) to stretch the shawl into shape.
