Unicorn Hat/Cape

Materials:
100 Yards of white acrylic yarn, small amounts of yellow, pink, blue, green or other desired colors. (36 STS) NOTE: Should measure approx. 4" R4: CH 2, DC in each ST around, SL ST to ist DC. (36 STS) R5-R9: Rep R4 (36 STS) NOTE: R11-R27 is worked in rows. R11: CH 2, DC in next 10 STS. (1o STS) R12: CH 2, turn, DC in each ST across. (1o STS) R13: CH 2, turn, DC INC, DC in next 8 STS, DC INC in last ST. (12 STS) R14: CH 2, turn, DC INC, DC in next 10 STS, DC INC in last ST. EARS
Make 2 With white, Magic Circle R1: CH 1, 4 SC in circle, SL ST to first SC to join. (4 STS) R2: CH 1, SC in each ST around, SL ST to first SC to join. (4 STS) R3: CH1, \*SC, SC INC, rep from \* around, SL ST to first SC to join. (6 STS) R4: CH 1, SC in each ST around, SL ST to first SC to join. (6 STS) R5: CH 1, \*SC, SC INC, rep from \* around, SL ST to first SC to join. (9 STS) R6: CH 1, SC in each ST around, SL ST to first SC to join. (9 STS) R7-R9: Rep R6 R1o: CH 1, SC in next 8 STS, SC INC in 9th ST, SL ST to first SC to join (1o STS) Now you will have something that resembles a horse ear. It should flatten out naturally so that you will be able to SC through both “sides" of the ear at the bottom. You will end up with 5 SC to close up the bottom of the ear. Now you will fold the ear lengthwise to make a crease and SL ST twice. See photos on next page. Leave a long tail for sewing on to the hat. Note: Sew the ears on around R3 on either side of the top of the hat.

TAIL
With white, Magic Circle R1: CH 2, 5 DC in circle R2-12: DC in each ST around, SL ST to first DC (5 STS) Finish off leaving long tail to sew onto back of cape. Take a few scrap pieces of black yarn and tie them to the tip of the tail.
MANE
Take scrap pieces of various colors of yarn (or cut pieces of yarn) to your desired length and tie them in the center of the hat down the back of the hat.
HORN - with F hook and Gold/Yellow
Note: the horn is worked in a continuous round. DO NOT JOIN at the end of rounds. You may find it helpful to use a st marker. Magic Circle R1: CH 1, 4 SC in circle (4 STS) R2: IN BLO, HDC in each ST around (4 STS) R3: In BLO HDC, HDC INC, HDC, HDC INC (6 STS) R4: HDC in each ST around (6 STS) R5: Rep R3 R6: HDC, HDC INC, HDC, HDC, HDC INC, HDC (8 STS) R7: HDC in each ST around (8 STS) R8: In BLO SL ST in next 2 STS.
