Row 1 (RS): \*K1, YO, repeat from \* to last st, K1. Row 2 (WS): K to end. Rep. rows 1 and 2 once more. Row 5: \* (K1, YO) twice, PM, repeat from \* twice more, (K1, YO) twice, K1. Rows 6, 7 and 8: K to end. Row 9: K1, YO, \*K to marker, YO, SM, K1, YO, repeat from \* twice more, K to last st, YO, K1. Repeat rows 6 to 9 until shawl reaches desired length, ending on a WS.

EDGING

Row 1(RS): K1, \*YO, K2TOG, repeat from \* to 1 st before 2nd M (removing the 1st M along the way), YO, K1, RM, K2. \* YO, K2TOG, repeat from \* to last st on needles (removing the 3rd M along the way), YO, K1. Row 2 (WS): K to end. Row 3: \*CO 2 sts, BO 4 sts, slip st on right-hand needle onto left-hand needle, repeat from \* to end. Cut yarn leaving six-inch tail.
