Long-tail cast on for (56, 64, 72) sts with the main color (A). 1. row, knit all sts with color B. 2. and 3. rows [k1 A, p1 A] repeat to the end of rnd. 4. row [k1 B, p1 B] repeat to the end of rnd. 5-6. rnds Repeat rnds 2-3.
Leg
The leg is worked with color A. Set-up rnd, work [k3, p1] repeat to the end of rnd. Begin the pattern stitch according the chart below and work for 48 rnds(3 times). Leave the last stitch of the last (48th) rnd unworked and move it to the start of the rnd.

Heel
The heel is worked with the first (29, 33, 37) sts of the round with separate circs. Heel is worked flat. Set-up rnd, worked with color A [p1, k3] repeat until the last st of the flap remains unworked, p1. For the rest of the flap uneven rows are worked with color A and even rows with color B. A: 1. rnd ws; k1, purl stitches until only one st remains unworked, k1, turn. B: 2. rnd rs; [slip 1 st wyib, k1]repeat until only 1 st remains unworked, sl 1 wyib . A: 3. rnd rs; Knit all stitches, turn. B: 4. rnd ws; sl1 wyif twice, [p 1, sl1 wyif] repeat until only 3 sts remains unworked. P1, sl1 wyif twice.
Repeat rnds 1 to 4 until the heel flap is (10, 12, 14) repeats long. Work 1st rnd one more time.
Heel turn
Heel turn is worked with both colors together. Work first st with color A and second with color B, repeat this sequence (ABABA..) until the end of the short row. After the first short row A color stitch is worked with color B and B color stitch with color A. Note! On wrong side rows the stranding is left in front (ws) of the worked sts. k (16, 20, 24) sts, sk, k1. Turn work. Sl 1 wyif, p (4, 8, 12), p2tog, p1. Turn work. Sl 1 wyib, knit until one stitch before the previous turn (the gap), ssk, k1. Turn work. Sl 1 wyif, purl until one stitch before the previous turn (the gap), p2 tog, p1. Turn work. Keep working knit and purl short rows with one more stitch between the slipped st and the decrease until you have worked all heel flap stitches. You will have (17, 21, 25) sts left. Brake yarn B.
Gusset decreases
Picking up gusset sts
Knit all remaining stitches of the flap. Pick up (12, 14, 16)st from the first edge of the heel flap. Pick up 1 st between the heel flap and instep and purl it tbl. Make this purl the first st of the instep. Continue the stitch pattern according the chart with the instep stitches. Pick one more st between the instep and the second heel flap edge and p1 tbl as the last st of the instep. Instep has now (29, 33,37) sts. Pick up equal amount of stitches from the second edge as you did with the first edge. Knit to the end of the heel&gusset sts. Keep working the instep according the chart. The round ends at the end of the instep.
Decreases
Set-up rnd: k (20, 24, 28) sts, k1 and mark this stitch with scrap yarn or removable stitch marker. You have now marked the middle stitch of gusset sts. Work as set until the end of rnd. p purl A main color ssk slip-slip-knit k knit B second color ws wrong side st(sts) stitch (stitches) rnd round rs right side Decrease rnd: k until 2 sts before the marked st, k2 tog, k the marked st and ssk after it. Work as set until the end of round. Even round: Work as set for one round. Work decrease round every uneven round until the sole has (29, 33, 37) sts. Repeat as set without further decreases until the foot is ( 19,5 / 20,5 / 21,5 )cm long. The toe decreases are worked every round so the toe part is quite short, only (3/4/5)cm. Knit one full round before starting the toe and check that you have (29, 33, 37) sts on both sole and instep.
Toe decreases
Set-up rnd; Join color B to work and [k1 B, k1 A] repeat until the end of the round. Toe decreases; Sole: ssk B, [k1 A, k1 B] until 3 sts to the end of the sole stitches. K1 A and k2 tog B. Instep: ssk A, [k1 B, k1 A] until 3 sts to the end of the instep. K1 B and k2 tog A. Repeat the decrease rnd until you have 22 sts left, 11 instep and 11 sole.
Bind-off
Joining the sole and the instep Break color b. Bring 3rd needle to help with the bind-off. The bind-off is a modification of 3-needle bind-off. Hold the sock in your left hand, both instep and sole needles pointing to right and sole facing you. Use the 3rd needle and move first instep st to the right wyif. Knit first sole st with the right needle. Lift the moved st over the knitted st and off the right needle. [Move next instep st to the right wyif. Knit next sole st with the right needle. Lift the moved st over the knitted st and off the right needle. Lift the rightmost st over the knitted st and off the right needle.] Repeat until all stitches have been bound-off. Pull the tail through the last stitch and weave ends carefully.
