Vercanus

Materials:
100g King Cole Riot Yarn, shade 412 'Hot'. (named 'S' in the pattern). 100g Jarol Heritage in a complimentary or contrrasting colour, shade 134'Silver', (named 'C' in the pattern). 6mm circular needles (80 cm or longer). Circular needles are important as the work is knitted from one side to the other so you'll need the work to be 'open for business' at either end. 3 mm crochet hook. Darning needle. Pins for blocking.

Ver means Spring and canus means grey in latin. 'Grey' and Spring have never gone together in my head but as soon as I saw the warm grey Heritage next to the soft citrus tones of the 'Hot' shade of Riot I fell a bit in love and thought of a thin shawlette to take you from the cold winter months to the late days of Spring. In fact, it's so quick and easy this would make a perfect Christmas presents for the mother-in-law or your sister (just thinking ahead for you to prevent tears on December 24th...).
Gauge:
Not too important but 16 stitches and 24 rows per 10cm before blocking using 6mm needles and worked in the horizontal rib pattern.
Stitchionary:
k - knit yo - yarn over pm - place marker sm - slip marker ch - chain
