Materials
1 or 2 skeins of Fibres: 65% Baby Alpaca, 35% Mulberry Sillk Weight:50g Length: 100m And a bit of contrast in any DK for large flower bout 20 grams
Gauge
Tension 10cm sq: 30rows x 22sts Needles: 4mm/US6, 16 inch circular or DPN's
Stitches and Abbreviations Used:
Garter stitch: round 1 knit, round 2 purl. K = knit
P = purl K2tog twist stitch = knit 2 stitches together and leave stitches on needle, knit first st and slide both off needle. Bind off = K2, pass first stitch over the second sts.
Instructions
Cast on 80 Sts join in round and place marker. Garter stitch for 3 rounds: k 1 round, p1 round, k 1 round Rnds 1, 2,3 \*K2, p2\* rep from \* \*k2tog and leave stitches on needle, knit first st and slide both off needle\*, p2 rep from Rep Rnds 1-4 repeat until it measures 7 inches or desired length, Knit 1 row straight.
Crown shaping.
Round 1: \*K 17, k2tog\* repeat to end Round 2: \*k16, k2tog\* repeat t0 end Keep descending till you got 13 Sts left
Pull the yarn through the last 13 stitches and tighten yarn, weave in ends.
FLOWER
Small flower
Caston56 Row 1 k1, bind of 3, k1, bind of 3 repeat to stitch k1 Row 2 purl all stitches Row 3 k1, bind off 2 stitches, K2, bind off 2 stitches to the last 2 stitches k2tog Row 4 purl Row 5 k1,\* k2tog\*rep all stitches Pull through the last stitches with needles and sew the seam up.
Large flower
Cast on 68 Row 1 k1 bind of 3, \*K2, bind of 3\* rep allstitches, Row 2 purl all stitches Row3 k1, bind of 2 \*K2, bind of 2\* rep all sts Row 4 purl all Sts Row 5 k1, k2tog \*k1, k2tog\* all sts Row 6 purl all Sts Row 7 \*k2tog\* rep to end Pull through the last stitches with needles and sew the seam up Put both flowers together and join in the centre and sew on button/gem And sew it onto the hat securely.
