Turtle Pattern

st = stitch sc = single crochet 2tog = 2 stitches together BLO = back loops only sl st = slip stitch Hdc = half douoble crochet
Materials needed:
3.75mm (F/5) hook Worsted weight wool in dark green and a small amount in your mask colour of choice either red, Orange, blue or purple. 12mm safety eyes or buttons Fibrefill stuffing This pattern is made in continuous rounds.
Head and Body
Begin at the top of the head with turtle colour 1. 6sc in a magic ring/adjustable circle (6) 2. 2sc in each st around (12) 3. 1sc then 2sc in next st (18) 4. 1sc in next 2 st then 2sc in next st (24) 5. 1sc in next 3 st then 2sc in next st (30) 6. 1sc in next 4 st then 2sc in next st (36) 7. 1sc in next 5 st then 2sc in next st (42) 8-10. sc around (42) change to mask colour and the end of round 10 11-15. sc around (42) change back to turtle colour and the end of round 15 16-18. sc around (42) in turtle colour 19. 1sc in next 5 st then 2tog (36) 20. 1sc in next 4 st then 2tog (30) 21. 1sc in next 3 st then 2tog (24) Place 12mm safety eyes in row 13-14 (in the middle of the mask colour) approximately 10 stitches apart and begin to stuff head 22. 1sc in next 2 st then 2tog (18) 23. 1 sc in next st then 2tog (12) Finish stuffing the head 24. 2sc in each st around (24) 25. 1sc in next st then 2sc in next st (36) 26-32. sc around (36) 33. 1sc in next st then 2tog (24) 34. 1sc in next st then 2tog (16) 35. 2tog around (8) 36. 1sc in next 2 then 2tog (4) Sew the bottom of the body together and finish off
Legs (make 2)
Start with the mask colour 1. 6sc in a magic ring/adjustable circle (6) 2. 2sc in each st around (12) 3. 1sc then 2sc in next st (18) 4. in BLO 1sc in next st then 2tog (12) 5. sc around in both loops (12) change to turtle colour 6-9. sc around (12) 10. 1sc in the next st then 2tog (8) 11. 1 sc in the next 4 st then hdc in the remaining 4 (8) St st in next st and finish off Attach legs to the bottom of the body with the hdc stitches facing the outer edge of the doll. This should help the legs sit better.
Arms (make 2)
Start with turtle colour 1. 6sc in a magic ring/adjustable circle (6) 2. 2sc in each st around (12) 3. sc around (12) 4. 1sc in the next 2 st then 2tog (9) 5-7. sc around (9) change to mask colour at the end of round 7 8-9. sc around (9) change to turtle colour at the end of round 9 10-11. sc around (9) Sew arms to the body as desired, I chose to attach them to the first round of the body but placement is entirely up to you.
Tummy plate (make 1) Beige/tan
1. 6sc in a magic ring/adjustable circle (6) 2. 2sc in each st around (12) 3. 1sc then 2sc in next st (18) 4. 1sc in next 2 st then 2sc in next st (24) Sl st in next st and finish off
Inner Shell (make 1) Light brown
1. 6sc in a magic ring/adjustable circle (6) 2. 2sc in each st around (12) 3. 1sc then 2sc in next st (18) 4. 1sc in next 2 st then 2sc in next st (24) 5. 1sc in next 3 st then 2sc in next st (30) Sl st in next st and finish off
Outer Shell (make 1) Light brown
1. 6sc in a magic ring/adjustable circle (6) 2. 2sc in each st around (12) 3. 1sc then 2sc in next st (18) 4. 1sc in next 2 st then 2sc in next st (24) 5. 1sc in next 3 st then 2sc in next st (30) 6. sc around (30) To join shell pieces you can sew them together but I chose to sc them together using the tan/beige colour. Sl st into any of the st on round 6 of the outer shell then sc through all four loops of the inner and outer shell, adding stuffing as you go.
