Bulky Ornamental Leg Warmers
Very warm bulky leg wormers
You need:
Set of socks needles US 9 - 5.5 mm US 7 - 4.5 mm. Alafoss Lopi by istex colors: 0.92 skein of 9965 Chartreuse Heather (yellow-green). 1.75 skeins of 9968 - Sapphire Blue Heather.
This yarn makes a pair of leg warmers with the following measurements:
Length: 45 cm / 18" Calf circumference: 34 cm / 13" Ankle circumference: 25 cm / 10"

Description
1. Cast 40 st with blue yarn on 4.5 mm needles (US 7), make a circle. 2. Knit 9 rows of rib 1x1 (1 knit, 1 purl). 3. Change the needles to 5.5 mm (US 9). Knit next row with knit stitches only, making new stitch after each 5 st. In the end you should have 48 st. on your needles. 4. Start to knit the color chart from the first row. 5. When the work comes to the flower chart, repeat the pattern 3 times. In the third time do not knit 2 last rows of the pattern. 6. Finish the chart with the yellow and blue row. 7. In the next blue row decrease number of the stitches to 44, knitting together each 11th and 12th stitches. 8. Knit 6 rows more with plain blue. 9. Decrease again to 40 st., knitting together each 10th and 11th stitches. 10. Knit 12 more rows with plain blue. 11. The last three rows knit only with purl stitches in order to make nicely curled edge. 12. Bind off loosely.
