Autumn drops by Silke Ufer
Yarn:
50 gr Isager Alpaka No.2 (50% Alpaca, 50% Wool) 50g - 250 m

Needles: Set of 5 dpn size 3,5 mm
Instruction:
The pattern creates a very strechy fabric. Perhaps you should knit an example, to find out the best fitting number of stiches. I did mine with 64 stiches and that turned out a little bit too big (56 stiches would have been the better choice for my arms). You need a multiple of 8 stiches for the “drop-stich"'-pattern. Cast on 56stiches and close to round, beeing careful, not to twist the stiches. Knit 3 rounds k2, p2 Repeat the12 round-pattern to the desired length (in my case 23 cm from cast on) 1.round: \*k1, yo, k1, p2, k2, p2\* repeat from \* to \* 2.-5.round: \*k3, p2, k2, p2\* repeat from \* to \* 6. and every following 1.round: \*k1, drop next stich down to the yo, k1, p2, k1, yo, kl, p2\* repeat \* to \* 7-12.round: \* k2, p2, k3, p2\*repeat \* to \* Knit 3 rounds k2, p2 and bind off.
Right hand:
Needle 1: knit Needle 2: chart Neddle 3: k2, m1, k2, m1, k to end (repeat this in every third round for totally 4 times)
Caution!For needle 3 increases:
The second time, you increase, you knit: k2, m1, k4, m1, k to end of needle 3 The third time, you increase, you knit: k2, m1, k6, m1, k to end of needle 3 The fourth time, you increase, you knit: k2, m1, k8, m1, k to end of needle 3 You may now have 10 stiches (2 st. plus the eight stiches, you increased on both sides) for the thumb-opening: Needle 1: 13 stiches Needle 2: 20 stiches Needle 3: 21 stiches
Left hand:
Needle 1: k until there are only 4 stiches left on needle 1, then: m1, k2, m1, k2 (repeat this in every third round for totally 4 times) Needle 2:chart Neddle 3: knit Caution! For needle 1 increases: The second time, you increase, you knit: k until there are only 6 stiches left on needle 1, then: m1, k4, m1, k2 The third time, you increase, you knit: k until there are only 8 stiches left on needle 1, then: m1, k6, m1, k2 The fourth time, you increase, you knit: k until there are only 10 stiches left on needle 1, then: m1, k8, m1, k2 You may now have 10 stiches (2 st. plus the eight stiches, you increased on both sides) for the thumb-opening: Needle 1: 21 stiches Needle 2: 20 stiches Needle 3: 13 stiches
Both hands:
After that increases you have to knit 9 rounds, following the chart. In 1o" round bind off the 10 thumbstiches and cast on 4 stiches in the next round to close the gap and create the thumbopening. The next 10 rounds (or longer, just as long, as you like to cover your fingers) you knit as follow: k2, p2 After that bind off all stiches, weave in all ends and add a decoration you prefere.
