Instructions
\*\*I recommend reading the pattern through before starting. There are a few crucial steps to ensure pattern fluidity that I'd hate for you to miss!\*\* Holding two needles together, cast on 60 stitches. Join in the round. P1, kltbl around for 1o rounds. Begin chart and knit until you finish 2 and a half or 3 repeats of chart, depending on personal preference for length. Next Rd: Knit the first 2 sts from the beginning of the new round onto the last needle to hold to rear for the top of the foot. You are moving the beginning of the heel flap over 2 stitches. You will be using 26 stitches for heel on needle 1, arranging the remaining 34 for the top of the foot and holding to the rear. (RS) Slip first stitch, \*kl, sl 1,\* kl across. (WS) Slip first stitch, purl across. Repeat these rows until you have 16 slipped stitches on each side of the flap side. Turn the heel: (RS) Sll, kl4, ssk, kl,turn. (WS) Sll, purl 5, p2tog, p1, turn.

Continue in this manner, slipping first stitch and working as set when you reach the gap, until you have 16 stitches remaining. Knit back across stitches. Pick up 16 stitches in each slipped stitch and 1 extra stitch (to prevent a hole where the needles join) before proceeding across the foot by returning to where you left off in the chart when we divided for the heel, either row 1 or row 13, knitting the first two stitches of the foot top together tbl, leaving you with 33 stitches for the top of the foot. Pick up 17 stitches on the remaining side of the foot and knit across 8 of the reserved heel stitches, establishing the beginning of the round. Knit across 8 heel stitches and then through back loop if the stitches you picked up last row to complete the first needle. Work across foot in pattern and knit through back loop of the 17 picked up stitches on other side of the foot , then knit the remaining 8 normally. On the next round, knit to last 3 stitches on first needle; k2tog, kl. Work across foot and kl, ssk first 3 stitches of the last needle, knitting to finish the round. Knit next round normally, following the chart for the foot top. Continue by decreasing every other row until 17 stitches remain on each side needle - 67 stitches.

Work until you reach 2 inches from the end of the foot, ending on chart row 12 or 24. Begin decreasing for the toe by knitting to the last 3 stitches of first needle, then k2tog, kl. At beginning of sock top, kl, ssk and knit to last 3 of the foot top, k2tog, k1. On last needle, kl, ssk then knit to end. Knit next row around.Continue these two rounds until you reach 31 stitches. Then decrease every row until you reach 17 stitches, decreasing one extra time on top of sock in last row - 16 stitches remaining. Arrange 8 stitches on front needle and 8 stitches on rear needle and break yarn, leaving an 18 inch tail for grafting toe closed. Please note that this pattern features a very long repeat and you should aim to finish at row 12 or 24 as close to your pinky toe as possible. You can adapt the toe decreases to lengthen or shorten the toe as needed by decreasing or increasing the frequency in which you work the toe decreases. For example, a shorter toe would necessitate more frequent decreases and a longer toe would necessitate decreasing less frequently, perhaps every other round to the desired length, omitting the rounds where you decrease every round.
